I love Ikea food. The portions aren't too big and they accomodate vegetarians. Normally I just snack there. I don't like their fried foods though the fried rosti potato's are addictive. I like their cake slices and salads and soups. If I'm in a rush I will simply grab a hot dog and ice cream cone to go. I also like their foreign food store a nice way to try different European food items that aren't for sale elsewhere. The prices are very fair and this is a family friendly venue. A nice way to end a shopping trip for the home.
Two pieces of cold sausage links, chopped fried potatoes and a glop of hardened scrambled eggs, Not bad although it but may not be very nutritious and heart friendly.
Factor the price All this for a dollar and it is attractively a big deal and so of course the place is generally packed.
My beef was with the coffee.
********* SOUR !!!!!!!!!!*********************
and not just slightly sour, Like someone made a batch of 50 cups at 8AM and only 10 people came in so it is still being served to the 1030 AM crowd.
Cant help but think " yup a few cents more and I could have better quality coffee from McDonalds across the street"
Maybe the early morning crowd had a better coffee experience.
Went there with the family on friday for the 2.99 Fish & Chips special.
Ambience - okat ... you normal cafeteria style setting
Service - you get it yourself, but the cashier was really helpful, even offering to take the tray to your table. The girl behind the food counter seemed stressed ... but can't complain, she is doing her job.
Value - is amazing, can feed the whole family for under 20 bucks. We have 4 Fish & Chips special and 2 kids meals (comes with milk)
Food - the F & Cs were good and hot. The pieces were not small, but average size and were battered not breaded. The Kids menu, for 1.99, you get choice of meatballs or Mac&Cheese with side fries.
They have a different special each weekday .. from quiche to Stuff salmon to organic pasta ... I think I would definitely try this place again.
Of course, I come for the $1.00 breakfast (includes coffee) on occassion also ... what a deal.
