I always knew there was another location but never knew where it was. The location is sorta hidden in a plaza. This location is smaller then the Burnaby one but is more roomy. You're not forced to sit elbow to elbow with other people. You actually have breathing room. It is also pretty packed but not as much as the other location. I always eat the noodle pot and it tastes just as good. What I noticed was the bigger chunks of meat. They were minced up and shredded like the other location. I could actually see them. Will come back more to this location!
You get what you paid for... For $6.95 you can't really expect too much. The soup is pretty bland even if you ask for extra spicy. I've tried anywhere between mild to extra spicy and the only difference is an extra squirt of hot sauce or two. Once waited for take out and saw the cook in the back taste testing each soup as it was being made using the same spoon. Not a memory I like to think about when I go eat there. Service is pretty lacking, especially during busy times when they just don't seem to care. Had the guy waiter take our table's order without writing it down, it would have been pretty amazing had he not missed about 3 dishes.
Visited this location quite a few times. Hot pot prices are set at 5.95 rice dishes are 6.95. There are quite a few taiwanese side dishes. I wouldn't say it's traditional korean food, but then the spice of the soup satisfies my instant craving for something spicy. The service at this location is far beyond better than the one in Burnaby. I never go there anymore. Clean, decent service, good prices.
Ate here with my boyfriend on one of the nights that it was raining. We each ordered a hotpot (sizes aren't big enough to share) and had a pleasant evening. The prices are really affordable! I think there is also another location in burnaby, around willingdon and kingsway.
We had lunch here on April 11, 2008 and really enjoyed it.
I had a seafood hotpot, my husband a rice dish, both were tasty and reasonable @ $7 each. The service was good, the place was clean, a great spot for a hot meal on a chilly day
This is a small restaurant which I think is more taiwanese than korean They have mini hot pots and rice bowls. I love the kimchi hot pot and always get it because of the soup and spicyness. You get meat, tofu, an egg, and kimchi and vermicelli. I'm always full and satisfied!I find it pretty cheap too. Better than eating fast food! I wouldn't say there was anything special about this restaurant other than it serves decent food fast. They also have bubble tea now but I've never tried it. Their tea is also really nice.(although depending on the waitresses working, one of them doesn't know how to make the tea and I end up getting hard water with no tea flavor, this has happened on two occasions).
This hot pot is really HOT! Very narrow menu but done right and very consistent every time I eat there. Nice small appetizers and tasty green tea drinks. The service is very friendly and attentive. This place can get quite busy and sometimes you have to wait for the table. Great food at great price.
