Decided to go here for a family outing.
Heard that the Prime Rib was good.
Setting was in the clubhouse of a local golf course, beautiful views of the greens, lots of parking and ambiance was great.
We made a reservation for 16, when we arrived our table was set and ready.
This place was hopping, as there was a golf tournament going on also. That did not lessen the service, service was attentive and refills of drinks were on time.
W/C was very clean.
Ordering, 14 of us tried the Prime Rib done to 8 oz and 6 oz portions. It came with daily vegetables and scalloped potatoes. Also server was bread. Drinks, non-alcoholic were reasonably priced and came with free refills.
The Prime Rib was done to perfection. We ordered it medium rare and it came out as expected. Well done to the chefs at The Grille @ Country Meadows.
Gratuities was included, at 15%, service was well worth this amount.
We will definitely go back again and again.
At a golf course, yes, there is this restaurant. They even let us in wearing sloppy jeans and t-shirt.
Frankly, it looks like a typical casual fine dining restaurant in Vancouver. Say a nicer White Spot. It certainly doesn't hurt though that it has a rather nice view of a very good looking golf course. Not so much course out the window, but trees, ponds, grass... you could do worse.
Service is friendly and proficient, but nothing super amazing. No complaints.
The food? Surprisingly decent! They advertise only wild, sustainable salmon. And local produce from Richmond farms.
There is absolutely nothing fancy or innovative about their food. Burgers, pasta, sandwiches, soup, salads. But, they do a very good job of it. Maybe it's the ingredients.
Prices for lunch are pretty reasonable, I would say cheaper than Earl's, most things around $10-11.
Would I eat here again? Easily? Worth a trip? Maybe not. But hey, it sure beats most of the crappy HK tea restaurants around Richmond.
Food: We had the yam fries, steak burger w/ a salad, and butter chicken w/rice. The fries were crispy and fresh. The burger was a little bit dry but the flavour was okay. The butter chicken sauce was good and creamy. The chicken was nice and tender. The rice was partially crunchy though... maybe just needed soak up some of that creamy sauce.
Service: Walked in... no hostess. Waited a couple minutes and peeked around a bit. Hostess came, acknowledged us, and asked us to wait for a couple minutes. Then we were seated with no problem; got a pretty nice window seat. The service from the waiter was standard; nothing special. Food came at a good time.
Value: It was pretty cheap for a clubhouse type place at a golf course. The yam fries starter was ~$7, burger was ~12, and butter chicken was $14 or $15. So it's relatively cheap!
Ambiance: Loved the view. Beautiful green field of grass and a clear blue sky. It was just lovely! We had a booth so it was comfortable and roomy. The washroom was clean and classy with a lounging sofa.
This restaurant is located at the Country Meadows Golf Course. I have been here for lunch on a number of occassions because it is close to work.
The food is good, but nothing spectacular... meaning I have never come out bragging about it. The meal portions and price are reasonable.
The service is sometimes hit & miss. They seem to have a lot of people working the floor, but service can still be slow on occasion.
I recommend going in the summer when their spectacular outdoor patio is open. Looking out onto the greens on a warm summer day is the best!
omg, hidden gems in the country side
One of the best prime rib I have ever had
Extensive choice of beef and seafood dishes
