Globe @ YVR offers guests amazing panoramic views of the North Shore Mountains while dining on a menu that highlights all that is West Coast.
Stumbled upon the Fairmont Vancouver Airport with a flight delay - went into Jetside Bar for drinks to start and then for dinner in GLobe@YVR. First of all my cocktail was delicious - they had local wines and even a Stanley Park Pale Ale on tap! Dinner was even better though because our server was so pleasent & professional! She read us like a book - starting with sparkling water and an amazing glass of Pinot Gris. Had the globe signature salad which was very good. You could tell it was fresh sea food was really fresh and for the price of the salad there was alot of it! I really enjoyed their menu.. we finished with a dessert flight which had 4 different desserts on it! I could go on and on but just go there yourself. The views, the service & the food was just delightful! Will return even if I'm not catching a flight - I feel like I really struck gold with this sure find!
Spectacular floor to ceiler panoramic view of the most stunning mountain views you can capture ANYWHERE in Richmond. It definitly does come second though to the outstanding menu. I opted for a starter off the lifestyle cuisine plus menu that gave me options for my gluten free diet. Then I had to have the Frazer Valley Duck Breast and it was amazing - cooked to perfection. I will return for the views during a beautiful day or even just for the service at night. Wine list also very extensive.
We did a mini-trip awhile back and stayed two nights at the Fairmont Airport Hotel. Our room rate included the 'all-you-can-eat' breakfast each morning at the Globe @YVR. We savoured and thoroughly-enjoyed that part of our trip. There was a good variety of cold and hot items, all nicely-presented, very tasty, well-prepared. Along with juices, great coffee or tea.
We could not (and certainly would not) eat that much breakfast each day, but for a special occasion, such as our "weekend away", it was sure good!!
Good service and lovely spot too!!
I have been here on multiple occasions, skip the breakfast and the buffets, a real wek spot. Dinner is always excellent, and it should it is by far Richmond's most expensive restaurant. Imaginative plates with fresh local ingredients. The tenderloin is always a sure fire bet, the game if they have any is always good too. Do yourself a favor and order a soup, especially if it is a fish based one, I am a picky fish eater, as they are a true strong point, the crab and corn chowder is outsanding when it is in. Deserts are average bu the tea is loose leaf in a french press, so go for that.
This visit was very unlike our first. I'll keep it short & sweet. We had the same server as the last time, this time around she was full of life and as cheerfull as ever. The food again it was solid, nothing spectacular given the prices, but a good deal non the less.
