Fogg N' Suds serves pub style food with a wide selection of international beers. Located in the Holiday Inn.
I mainly go here for drinks at night with friends when I'm looking for a fairly quiet, tame night. This place is nice because it's not too busy so it's not that loud and there's no drunk obnoxious people. The food is fine but I go here mainly for those fishbowls. Sundays are the best :) as they are on special. The drinks in general though are pretty reasonably priced and the girls there are always pretty friendly.
Time was that Fogg & Sudds menu was uninteresting, and only the beer was any good. That's changed now, and there widely varied food menu, and a beer menu the same size. The food and the beer are excellent. Where the place falls down is in the area of service.
This is the main restaurant in a Holiday Inn, located in a business plaza, across the road from a stretch of motor inns, and conveniently located to an industrial park. All of this should give it a fairly sizeable captive audience, and yet at 7:30 on a Saturday night, there were more empty tables than occupied ones. Nonetheless, we had to wait for a table to be bussed. The family of five who came in after us had to wait five minutes to be seated, and all that was required was a rearrangement of two tables in a sea of empty ones.
The staff seemed young and relatively inexperienced, and there appeared to be nobody in charge, directing their activities and ensuring that the hostess was at her station, tables were cleared and reset promptly, parties were seated quickly, and that service was prompt and accurate. We saw more of our waitress after we asked for the bill than at any time during the meal. When we ordered drinks, the alcoholic ones came reasonably quickly, but I had to ask twice for a glass of water (always a bad sign, in my experience), and she was very slow to offer more drinks. When our cutlery was taken away with our appetizer plates, nobody noticed that we needed more, and our dinners cooled for a few minutes until we could attract someone's attention.
The service was lazy and apathetic on our most recent visit, but the food was excellent, so we'll probably give it another chance.
There were problems at the Fogg and Suds last night.
They were quick to take a drink order but that was it. My drink went back as it was too watery and tasteless to consume. No one seemed to care. The place was busy and there were lots of staff wandering around yet no one would make eye contact. After we finally flagged down a waitress to order, the food came quickly. She left, we had no cutlery. We managed to get another servers attention, she came back and said they were "out of knives". My husband went to the bar to borrow a knife for the three of us to share. When the server came to see how "everything was", I told her, then she was annoyed. Good-bye tip!
It is a comfortable, pleasant spot with OK food, but the prices seem high for such poor service.
A friend and I decided to drop by and grab a bite to eat. I never been to this place and wasn't really expecting outstanding food but much to my surprise, it was better then I thought. Had spinach dip, chili prawns and penne chicken and shrimp. The spinach dip wasn't cheesy enough, it was basically lots of spinach with some melted cheese on top. I've had better from other places. The deep fried chili prawns were excellent as well as the penne. Large pasta portions and I was definitely full. Service was prompt but not outstanding and could have been better. All in all, would return.
I actually made an account just for this place. The food is okay but the service is TERRIBLE. It's a piece of sxxx excuse my language. Their excuse is that it's busy but it didn't look busy to me. I had the worse service ever. When I asked for help I wasn't noticed for sooooo long. When the bartender finally saw me waving she gave me a nod that someone as coming over. Gave it another 5 minutes no one came. When I finally waved down the manger, I told him the bad service we got, he didn't even care and the fastest service I got was when he gave me the bill. I don't need to say anymore. Never going back. MADE THIS ACCOUNT JUST FOR THIS.
Went into Fogg n' Suds this Thursday to find out that they now have 16 flavors of wings, the dry rubs were excellent I had the Ragin Cajun, Spicy, but no to hot. Dry rubs are awesome cause they are not messy or sticky. I had a few of there mirco brews I believe they have a selection of over a 140 beers. The server was knowledgeable, attentive &cute!
All & all a great night! Highly recommended
Food was cold when it arrived. Beer was not very cold and half the beers on the menu they don't have. People that worked there were all in a bad mood. I left a small tip on the table for the poor service and the waitress told me to keep it. Ungrateful, arrogant, miserable people which obviously comes from management down.
I have tried a couple of food on the menus but what gets me coming back is the Chicken wings. On Wednesday's they have chicken wings special. Most of their flavors are very good except the terriyaki one. Honey garlic chicken wings are by far one of the bests I've ever tried. Has the honey taste and the garlic tastes and the way it was cooked is good too. Good texture
Friends and I used to frequent the Fog for quite a while but havent been there in a long time and this place has changed. The quality of food isnt the same as I remember and the service wasnt what I remember either. We sat at our table for quite a while before we were greeted and observed our server and the other staff just standing around talking the entire time we were there.
Our food came out on the cold side- the wings we had looked like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for quite some time.
From what I remember before the service and food was just better. Unfortunately I dont think i will be going back here.
wow i was really impressed by this place... we arrived there on a friday at about 8pm. the hostess let us know it would be a bit of a wait but that she would seat us as soon as she could. the place was busy but our server came over and greeted us right away. she made some great dinner suggestions and made great conversation. everyone around us seemed to be having a great time too. the food was really really good... i had the roast lamb and my friend tried the thai salad which she said was awesome. they have this deep fried mars bar for dessert- we tried and it was excellent!! they even have these cool beer towers... not to mention like about 100 beers from all over the world. but we drank martinis.
i work in the service industry and critique every place i go to... and this place is one of the best ive been to in a long time. i will definitely be going back.
The menu has a lot of options for lunch, dinner and also appetizers. The service varies from average to poor. The food is good and may get you back but nothing out of the oridinary or catchy. Little bit of changes and this place can be really buzzing.
This pub is conviniently located and has all the standard pub grub and suds you want. Staff are lookers and sometimes not. Frankly it's not Joeys or anything but at times groups come in with ladies and some ae eye candy. Now thats why we go to pubs.
Prices are fair and the waitress doesnt force you to keep ordering. Have picked up a couple of ladies here before but like I said it is very hit and miss. Parking is no problem.
Great atmosphere if you want to party and let loose. Great music. drinks are a fair price. Also lots of space and good menu of food. Will continue to go back with friends from work and other. More ladies are needed that I can talk up. How a pub should be.
