Since 1984, Felico's are known for their Greek food, lamb, seafood, pasta, steaks, chicken and more.
Started with a few appies which were all quite tasty. Pita bread was fresh and hot.
I had the roast lamb which was tender and tasty. Tried my friends souvlaki which was a litttle dry but not bad.
Portions were all ample.
Service was quick and attentive and the prices were very reasonable.
The restaurant itself was beautiful inside. I mean very nice!
Will definitely be returning and would recommend. Try the Lamb!
my fav restaurant hands down, fresh food, good service, and nice atmosphere.
best dish:feta kota
and ntn here is made from a box or frozen, unlike many chain food restaurants felicos is definatly outstanding. Even there hummus is out of this world. compared to most places it is a little pricey but it is definatly worth it. also the portions arent huge, but if it is quality that you are looking for then i definatly recommend it!
I've been going to Felicos since 1985, and have always enjoyed Felicos. They have the best Calamari I've Ever Tasted, Wonderful Spanakopita and the most Perfect Lamb You Can Imagine. All this for an incredibly reasonable price. The restaurant has by far the best ambience of any Restaurant in Richmond. Now I've had Greek Food at the most popular restaurants in London, Paris, New York and Miami and no one has ever come close to Felicos! A wonderful treasure!
here are the "finer" points of our evening at felico's, needless to say, we will NEVER be back and advise anyone to STAY AWAY FROM FELICO'S.
-server brought 4 wine glasses to a table for 7 - she poured the sample glass and then left. we had to ask for additional glasses and had to pour our own wine - she never poured a single glass
-we ordered a second bottle of white which when she brought to the table she plopped it down so hard that it sprayed on two of our party (still, there were not enough wine glasses and again had to ask for additional glasses)
-she forgot to put in one of our orders...we all slowed down eating, but the meal didn't come for at least 20 minutes - everyone's food was pretty much gone or cold at this point
-they offered dessert as compensation...the thing is, dessert comes with the meal
-when we asked to speak to "management" the "woman" was rude and abrasive saying "accidents happen" and "people are still eating, so she didn't see what the problem was"
-finally, to top off this incredible evening, the server who had forgotten the order came to our table and yelled at us! saying what a bad night she was having etc...
-i could give more examples, but this is already getting way to long...
in summary - yeah, mistakes happen, i get - just admit to it and make it right.
i have never felt compelled to write a review before, probably because i have never had such a horrific dining experience EVER. and i dine out a lot...it was a dreadful and upsetting evening.
Felico's was the biggest disappointment, this week. We arrived with a large party of 15 - everything here was disorganized. We were taken care of by multiple servers who forgot our drink and dinner orders - we waited at least 20 minutes for our wine and beer.
The food was delivered individually, leaving some to watch as others recieved their entrees, some intervals being over 10 minutes. When at last everyone received dinner, half the meal was cold. The food was bland and overcooked. We had the appetizer of saganaki, which at 9 95 is over priced. It was overly salty (and trust me, I eat khefatyri saganaki a lot) and hard - It's pretty obvious the cooks left it to burn...the cooks here are just not up to par.
It was a disappointing experience in every way. Stay away from here. There are plenty of better greek restaurants than Felico's
The food and service was fabulous. I loved my dining experience at Felico's and the most incredible part was how this honest family owned restaurant went about returning my lost wallet when it must have fallen out of my jacket one nite. The owner actually tried to call VISA to try to find my phone number (must have taken her 30 min to do this), regardless, I phoned her the next day and got my wallet back with all my cash and cards still inside. She went the extra mile and I will make Felico's my favorite Greek restaurant.
I'm shocked by those who do not enjoy the food at this restaurant. They serve some of the best calamari I've had throughout the world! The value for their items is incredible. Much of it is made in-house and are family recipes. I have brought many, many people to this restaurant and have never heard one complaint. Service can be a bit touch and go. Some servers are fabulous, others are disinterested and inexperienced. Management (family-run) are wonderful, friendly people. Other than the high staff turn over, never a disappointing meal, ever.
Went to Felico's with a large group Christmas party. The nicest thing I can say about the place is that it is beautiful inside. Looks upscale. But as they say, "looks can be deceiving".
The food was not authentic Greek and was definitely the worst "Greek" I've ever had. They served non-edible baked beans with the vegetarian dish (think Mexican breakfast style). Their rice was bland and slightly overcooked. Veggies were bland. The 4 vegetarians at our table each received their own plate with a full selection, but the 4 meat-eaters (incl. myself) were served side-plates with rice and veggies, and between the four were given two platters they had to dissect, and they had to split one tasteless skewer of chicken, two tough lambchops, two dry dolmadas (stuffed grape leaves) and two absolutely awful falafel (dry, overcooked and bad-tasting). The strawberry lada drink said it had coconut milk but you couldn't taste it; also, the strawberry had a strong artificial taste -- I couldn't even drink it. The wine kept flowing, but other than that the service was surly. Definitely will not be back.
I've eaten there prior to and after the renovation and both were good experiences. With the new renovations, I think it's really up-ed it professionalism because it just looks better.
The food was pretty good. I don't remember what I ordered, but I do remember enjoying the experience, nonetheless.
the only thing I'd have to say is that the restaurant is pretty cramped and usually at night there are loads and loads of people, and it's hard to manuever. And of course, because of the large population of Felico's customers, there is likely to be noise. Lots of it. So be warned!
Otherwise a pretty decent place to eat!
After 15 years of raving about Felico's service and food, and being consistently pleased, I took my 11 person family -- including visitors from California -- to a guaranteed great Greek meal. NOT!! With inept servers and poor timing, our meal was served intermittently so that we did not begin and finish as a group. Six of the meals were overcooked and/or tasteless, and one of our party had to argue to get a substitution -- in spite of offering to pay the difference! I phoned the next day to detail this fiasco, and was condescended to and not compensated. $300 poorer, much wiser -- I'll not darken their doors again.
The 'Felicos Platter for 2' was on a coupon and included a wide sampling of Greek fare: 2 chicken souvlakis, several lamb chops (NZ), a bunch of octopi rings, scallops, lots of rice & potato, salad, shrimp appetizer and more. With two adults there were leftovers... Served quickly: lamb and chicken were well done, rings were nicely (lightly) battered, vegetables well done - everything not oily and was tasty. The 'Seafood Uvetsi' was well prepared and tasty. Have to go again.
Went here with the wife for a nice Saturday lunch. Had the platter which was decent, however the waiter took our pita away before we were finished! Hasn't happened before to us and we were stunned. The dining room was tidy and attractive but there were lots of flies...Sigh, that can't be a good sign. As I said before, the platter we ordered was relatively decent. A perfect size for the both of us. The lamb and chicken were quite good. If I do go back, its with the Raid and a fly swatter.
Such a let down. Beautiful new setting, wonderful group of family and friends, sunny evening....then boom.
The young waitress was set upon us. She had no clue as to what she was doing. We actually felt sorry for her until she started admonishing us! The woman manager made the situation even worse by calling us hostile. We were not hostile. We were paying customers out for an evening of fun, food, and conversation. One order was never entered so we waited and waited and waited.
This poor girl was not prepared to serve in an IHOP much less a supposedly fine dining restaurant on aSaturday night with a table of 12. My roast lamb (Kleftico) usually a solid choice over the years was small fatty and salty. What the heck happened ? We as a family have been going here for years and loved it.The female manager really must get out of the business. All she had to do was apologize, just once. She actually said, "there are still people eating." This was a woman that thoughtfully let her calamari get ice cold so that our tablemate would not eat alone. She was rude, combative, and sealed the deal for all of us. We will never go back and it is a shame.
Friends said that felicos was good. Live in Delta, grabbed the gf and headed out.
Horrible. 20 minute wait for a restaurant with sections of open tables. I get it - customers like us aren't worth opening a section for. Whatever
My biggest peeve is the food. Every single thing we ordered was terrible. calamari to start - tasted like ass. overbattered and chewy. siginaki - way too salty, arrived cold, no lemon served with it.
Entrees: Paidakia chops flavorless, probably because it was way overcooked. That really says something about a restaurant - screwed up lambchops. all you gotta do is not overcook it, and the can't even do that
pasta - don't ask me what the sauce was, it looked like mucous and tasted like wood. it was runny, the sauce was cold. Shrimp undercooked..HOW?
dessert - after appies and entrees, we canceled our dessert
gross food, it was absolutely terrible, disappointig in every single way.. Did I mention that it is at least 8 - 16 dollars over priced? terrible.
I know why my friends liked this place - they don't know what they are talking about when it comes to greek food. Just dont waste your time.
I have been to Felico's several times and have had good service and good food until lastnight. It was a busy Saturday night but I did not think we should have had to wait 20 minutes for our server to come and take our drink order. Two tables who arrived after us got their drinks delivered before our order was even taken. The server brought our drinks and said she would be right back after delivering another table's hot entrees. We saw her visit two other tables before coming back to us. It was a really disappointing evening for the service we received. This restaurant's service is not worthy of a return visit.
My boyfriend and I used to go to Felico's quite a bit then kind of forgot about it because who thinks of Greek food while in Richmond. Anyways we had a craving for Greek and ended up at Felicos. Had to say I was impressed. They have renovated and the decor is beautiful. Our server was very nice. We ordered the Felicos platter and it was delicious. We were soo full but managed to eat everything and was completely satisfied. I'll remember Felicos next time we crave Greek for sure!
I have been to this place many times and have never regreted it. In fact the only thing I don't like about this place is that it's too darn popular so its parking lot is always full. Not a bid deal though as there is ample street-level parking.
My favourite is the Kleftiko. It's roasted lamb at its best.
Prices are good and on weekend evenings they have a belly dancer come up. I took my father in law there (he was almost 80) a few years ago and he enjoyed getting up and dancing with the girl and sticking a $5.00 bill in her bra!
I think the only thing that could make this place a 5 is if it were a bit smaller... or maybe not. Maybe it's already a 5!
