A Hong Kong Style Cafe serving up set meals and sizzling plates. Good prices, generous servings.
Came here for lunch last Wednesday.
Seated quickly, got the hot tea immediately.
Ordered Beef Brisket Chowmein and Fish/Corn sauce on rice. Both portions were served quickly and piping hot. The portions were quiet substantial for the price. Both meals came with a complimentary hot drink.
My kids enjoyed the food, as did my wife.
W/C was clean and large (not like some other Chinese restaurants I have been to, where the W/C are tiny).
Ambiance - cleaner than most HK style restaurant I have been to.
Wait staff was friendly and helpful.
Another bonus is that they accepted Visa.
Also Free parking is available.
They also have 3 private rooms that can fit 8-10 people and one large room.
Will definitely come back.
I visit Enjoy Cafe regularly for lunch and dinner. Their food is average Chinese cafe quality. I've ordered Portuguese Chicken with rice before and it turned out to be more like curry chicken. I won't order it again. For $7.50 - $7.95, you can get a combo that comes with a drink. The portion is pretty big, so I would say it's good deal. Waiters and waitresses are generally nice but don't expect extra service. It is a place to go if you are looking for solid quality and good value.
This is a newly opened cafe with many food selections.
Their foods and services are getting better.
The prices are acceptable.
I tried their 3 combos combinations and it was big and tasteful.
It came with a drink and I chose to have a bubble tea cost only $2 with the meal.
Their bubble teas are better than most other cafe.
I definitly recommend you, to try it out as it's worth it.
But don't expect the food and service to be 100% as they just opened about a week.
I am sure they are 100% when things settle.
BTW the service there is way better than E canteen.
I think the new name of this place is called "Enjoy Cafe" now and my experience was definitely not enjoyable. The pricing is okay but service they provide is horrible. The food took forever to arrive. I went there with a few friends and my fried rice arrived first. I waited 10 minutes until I start eating my rice (as it was getting cold) because I didn't want to be the only one eating, and by the time I was almost done with my rice, my friends' food finally arrived. They kept on bringing us food other people ordered instead of what WE ordered. The place wasn't even half full so I have no idea how they messed up orders. As for drinks, we had to keep reminding them to bring us our drinks. I thought drinks are supposed to arrive before food as it's simple to make (seriously, how long does it take to stick some lemon slices into a cup of hot tea?), but no, the drinks didn't get here until we were eating. One of our friend ordered a coke, and it took them 3 reminders to bring him his coke and a straw. Yes, they didn't even bother giving him a glass or ice. It took them over 10 minutes to bring us the bill despite the cafe isn't full, and they didn't even ask us if we want our change back.I am never ever going back to this place.
tl;dr - The food took forever. The drinks took forever. Service was below standard. Even the bill took forever. They didn't return the change and just assumed we are overtipping them. What the heck?
I came to Enjoy Cafe on opening day (Feb 18 Friday I think?) around dinnertime. The place was packed! I noticed that management and all the waiters are new faces so I know that this is not just the "same stuff under a different name" since I've been to E-canteen a couple times before this new one opened up. Although the drinks and the food didn't come as quick as it should, I wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere so I didn't think that that was a huge problem. One of the waiters had a nice smile and was patient when I double-checked on my order. He actually took the time to explain to me that everything was a bit overwhelming since they didn't expect such a great turn out and most of the waiters were new. The owner also came to apologize about the delay of the drinks as well and also explained about the situation. I thought that this was a place with lots of potential since it seemed like the new crew just needed time to get adjusted.
When the food came, it definitely took me by surprise. The portions were HUGE. I had the jiu pai chow faan (1+1 Fried Rice) and it was pretty good compared to what I normally have at Alleluia and E-Canteen.
I also decided to order a Peach Green Tea with Pearls along with my meal. In other cafes/restaurants that don't serve traditional Taiwanese food, the bubble tea usually tastes like some disgusting watered down powder drink and they charge you $2.00 to $2.50 to substitute your regular drink with a bubble tea. But I decided to take the risk and order one just because Enjoy Cafe is a new establishment and because they only charge $1.50 for the substitution. I loved it! The drink was reasonably big, the pearls were sweet unlike other bubble tea I have at other places, and the drink itself was definitely not like the other places, I thought that it tasted even better than the so called "traditional" bubble tea they serve at Pearl Castle. The bubble tea here is a MUST TRY!
Oh another thing, I walked past some of the private rooms on the way to the washroom and they are decorated really nice! Each one had a different theme (one was a starry night I think, another one had a safari theme), which is really different from the usual cafes in Richmond.
In conclusion, I am looking forward to coming again in a few weeks. Hopefully everything will be settled down by then so the food and drinks will come more quickly!
This place used to be called E-Canteen. Back then, it was a place that I would go to a few times per month if I had the opportunity because the food was good, the service was good (as good as expected from a Chinese cafe), and the prices were good. I just ate here for the first time in a couple of months and the place has a new name and new employees. Enjoy Cafe is the new place and they changed quite a lot. Unfortunately the changes weren't for the better.
The menu has fewer items and everything is more expensive. The service took a big hit. Waiters and waitresses constantly brought drinks and food to the wrong tables over and over again. They got orders wrong and were totally confused. The food quality is about the same, although two of three orders of fried porkchop at our table were over-fried. The portions are now 10-20% smaller than before and all the prices are higher. To make matters worse, our food took about three times longer to arrive. We waited about 25 minutes for our orders. This is up from their 7-10 minutes before.
I'm sad to say that I won't be coming back here for a while.
