i disagree to what that person has said to this store. After reading its review, i've decided to give it a try. it turns out to be very good! Even though we need to purchase the tartar sauce, it is reasonable. Look at the economy~
The fish were really big~i couldn't even finish the plate of 2 pieces fish and fries and it was just approx. $7.50.
since your already out for dinner, i dont think you would even mind purchasing a tartar sauce...
on the side, they have awfully lot of other options there! onion rings, spring rolls, shrimp, etc...they were awesome too! The service here was good too...
i would come back also with my bf and family next week and at least once two week~they have tooooo many things to try and ENJOY!
steveston was busy on canada day and we had a craving for fish and chip's, so we decided to give this place a try since we've passed it countless times. food was not that great, but the thing that made me remember to put up a review was that you had to pay for tartar sauce for an order of fish and chips? that's a first for me.
This is a tiny little restaurant with only a few tables, so don't bring the whole family here. It is my understanding that they do a lot of take-out business.
Anyways, the food here is pretty good. The prices are exceptional. Their weekday lunch special (before 3pm) is a great deal! 2 pieces of cod with chips and your choice of either coleslaw, pop, or tartar sauce for only $4.50! The tartar sauce in and of itself is unique. I think they use a lot of dill in their sauce. Whatever it is, it tastes great.
With such a tiny restaurant, you get pretty good service here. I think the owners run the restaurant, and they are very attentive to their customers.
My only complaint, and it goes for other fish & chip shops as well, is the amount of grease. Though I love fish & chips, I do not want to have to pop a couple of Tums on a weekly basis.
Back again and I'm not surprised, they have been keeping up with their quality of food, considering the price increase on food. it is a great bang for your buck. Great food, great price. i mean what more can you ask for? There really was any other restaurants out there that can give the same satisfaction. For there price, quality of food, and there service, i really don't see why they cant good big with this.
