Located in the Hilton Vancouver Airport hotel, Carmichaels restaurant presents a menu of West Coast cuisine along with everyday favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Stopped into Carmichaels for a quick breakfast. Let the hostess know we were on a schedule & just wanted something quick & simple while being seated & instead of the usual "I'll let your server know..." line that you get when letting them know your in a rush, she offered to take our orders on the spot if we knew what we wanted, or could be back in two minutes if we needed to review the menu. I found this impressive. All we wanted was some coffee, eggs & toast; so we ordered on the spot & we have our food literally about 10 minutes later, which was very nice. The food was allright. Our order was so basic; Eggs are Eggs and Toast is Toast. The restaurant does have a bit of a bland look to it, nothing much in the way of atmosphere with a view of the hotels lobby, non the less an enjoyable setting to dine in. With the service shown & accomodation excercised to help us meet out time restrictions, I'd have to say this was a good spot for a quick early morning bite to eat.
We decided to try Charmichael's after seeing it in the Entertainment Book and checking out the menu online. Plus, we needed to find a place with A/C during Vancouver's heat wave! It is in the hotel lobby area, quite open, with guests walking past. This did not bother me - I actually felt like a tourist myself for a bit. BTW, the A/C was working well. They were not busy at all mid-week. I especially prefer quiet spots where I do not have to shout over loud music, so this was a perfect spot for me.
We ordered the prawn appetizer. It was $13, but it had about 15 prawns in it! Husband had the Thai chicken and I had butter chicken. About $17 each. What a perfect blend of flavours in both dishes. Generous portions, very yummy. Will definitely go again.
Been twice now, decent food, reasonable prices, would be willing to try more things on the menu. Spinach salad was delicious and service was great. Not very busy so no reservations are required unless its a weekend. Good priced menu for Dine Out! Free parking was a plus and is close enough to everything without all the hustle bustle of No. 3 road.
I went in for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was amazing; it had everything that I would ever want to eat for breakfast.
The environment was comfortable and very clean. My server was very bubbly even at 7 AM in the morning, she came to my table several times during my meal to ensure everything was right. Also, the other staff members were very friendly and bubbly.
I don’t know how good they are during their lunch/dinner service, but I would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast.
warm food..yech. They need to re-think the menu and get a new chef. This place is not worth the price of admission. Now they want me to say more but this place does not deserve to be called a place to eat. I think I am not that usually critical of the food but if I am paying top dollar for top food, it better be good.
