Berry Good is located at Excel Centre in Richmond.
Went there with a group of friends on a Monday night. The first impression I got was..."wow, this place is small...", but then a few of my friends highly recommended this place for dessert, so we decided to give it a try.
One of my friends and I wanted to try their green tea cheesecake, but they didn't have it. It was the same for a few of the other cakes we wanted to try. So ok....I finally decided to try their green tea cake, and just stuck with my hot water. The cake was quite good, not too sweet, but just sweet enough. The sponge was nice and fluffy, so I was impressed by it.
I still wish they had more varieties for us to choose from though...that night we went, I think they only had about 7-8 different things to choose from when their menu featured a list of about 25 different varieties.
Came here with a couple friends a few days ago and had an pretty good experience. Ordered some chocolate cake and a berry smoothie. The cake and the smoothie were quite good. It was nice and clean inside, and I didn't feel too squeezed in.
It wasn't too pricey, it was a little under $9 for the drink and a slice of cake. Service was very friendly, but slow. Orders came out slowly, one cake or drink at a time over a 30-45 minute time period. They have a cute kid running around the restaurant the whole time too, he is cute, but seems to touch a lot of things (food), so I wonder how clean everything is.
Would probably come back if in the area for the good food and friendly service.
You'd be forgiven for passing by this place. It's stuck in one of those many plazas in the corner somewhere. Small, not outstanding. Looks like another one of those ubiquitous HK/Taiwan bubble tea or dessert places.
Mais au contraire, mes amis! It seems to be run by a couple of Korean ladies (or maybe it's Japanese+Korean). That means, no bubble tea. You can get all sorts of coffee & tea variations (e.g. Korean Royal Palace Tea). I generally don't drink coffee, I don't like the after-taste. Not any variation of it (latte, mocha, etc). What possessed me to order the Dark Chocolate Mocha this time, I'll never know. But me 'n the missus agree. This stuff was _good_! None of that bitter/sour aftertaste that I get with most coffee's. I noticed the ground the beans on the spot, just for the order. Oh, and by the way, it's organic coffee.
Ditto for the dessert. It's all made in-house (we watched them work on one in the back) and they said it's mostly all organic ingredients. But where it really matters? Well, it tastes good. Not too sweet. The cheesecakes were solid, nothing amazing. The strawberry chiffon and passion fruit mousse, very good. The chocolate layer cake was probably the best, it tasted like dark chocolate cake, SO full of chocolate flavour, not too rich or sweet.
And the bonus ... heck, it wasn't even that expensive. If anything, it's a little less expensive than most other places in Richmond.
We will definitely be going back to try more of their vast selection (be warned, some of the most popular stuff runs out quickly, and it's made by 1 or 2 of them in the tiny place, by hand, so there's not a lot of stock for the day).
My friend brought me here. It's a cute lil place hidden inside a plaza (where Top Gun Restaurant is).
We ordered cakes and chocolate mocha. I haven't tried enough dessert to really judge them but they're pretty good and I think it's made daily. It's own by a lovely Korean family. The mother is friendly but can't speak English. I think she's the main chef there. And our server was the daughter.
When we went there, it was a weeknight and it was quiet. The amazing thing is that they're open late every night. I think till 11pm. So if you're in Richmond and craving for dessert, I think this is the place to go.
Unlike the western style of cakes, this dessert place offers a variety of cheesecakes and mousse cakes that are lighter in texture and in flavor. I went there last night and my gf and I tried the blueberry cheesecake, petite fromage, and some chocolate mousse cake. I actually find the portion to be slightly smaller than regular cakes that's sold outside like in Sweet Revenge or Sweet Obsession but it is also cheaper than outside so it is a good portion for the price. The flavor is great, just a touch too much cream.
Food: All cake is awesome, look so nice. Tea is special.
Service is good. Refill tea without asking.
Ambiance: It's little bit tiny. If the light turn to dark, chair change more comfortable sofa. Then would be much better.
It's good place to talk and drink with 2 people. Not good for group people.
I will come back for sure. Strongly recommend
One weekday night, a friend and I decided to try this place. Our experience was great and quite relaxing. We were very warmly greeted when we entered. A small selection of cakes and mousses were available on display to choose from. We chose to try the Green Tea Chiffon and the Green Tea Cheese Mousse. Both were very flavorful. The Chiffon in particular was soft and moist and presented the perfect balance of texture and flavour. All the desserts appeared genuine and carefully assembled. Our drinks were also exquisitely presented.
This small establishment has a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. It's a great place to relax and chat with friends. It's quite unique and very different from other dessert houses in Richmond.
It's quite hidden..I've never heard of it until a friend of mine told me about it!
First of all, I have to say i love sweets! And when my friend told me that she finally found a place to eat dessert in richmond, I was thrilled.
The place is small, but warm and cozy.
The cakes were japanese styled. The light sort of cheesecake, and desserts are not as sweet as the other places. I have tried a couple, and absolutely loved it!
I liked the mango cheesecake, and this chocolate cake that i had :)
Go try it out!
ABSOLUTELY lovely dessert! Tasted wonderful!
The cakes were great. Love the selection, but I would agree with someone commented before that I also wish they can have more selection. The drinks were great too.
If the place can be a bit bigger and not that tight then it would be prefect! The chairs were kind of small and the table size was kind of weird. But great ambiance.
