Bei Jiang Restaurant serves Xinjiang cuisine, a province in Western China.
This is the only Xinjiang restaurant I have tried in Vancouver. I don't know of any other. But I sure do love the food!
They have great da-pan-ji (sorry for the spelling). I really want to come back to this restaurant. A lot of lamb, a lot of cumin, and nicely spiced. Not too hot, but just enough to have you addicted.
Service was there, don't expect much in that department.
The atmosphere is nothing special.
The parking is absolutely ridiculous. They have spots dedicated to certain restaurants in the parking lot. A terrible decision by the property management. I couldn't find a spot so I parked in another restaurant's spot that was very empty only to be scolded by the old lady that owns the restaurant which I stole the spot from. Finally after circling a few times, a spot opened. And it is Richmond, people will wait in the middle of the lane until someone leaves. Very frustrating. One restaurant put up pylons and empty paint containers in some empty parking spots so they can save them for there customers. I kicked them over in anger.
Remember I did say I really want to come back. That means the food is absolutely fabulous. It makes the poor parking situation, average service and atmosphere all disappear.
