Bean & Beyond? More like, Treats & Beyond!

Wow, where do I even begin with writing a review on this delightful little jem of a cafe in the heart of Steveston village?

As my friend and I were walking along in Steveston, we noticed a couple indulging in a decadent meal outside of what appeared to be a small coffee house. We couldn't tell if they were in love with each other or with the food. My friend looked to me and said, "This could be good!", so we decided to enter into the cafe and check it out. We were overwhelmed with the variety of foods that were available, from panini wraps to sweet treats. We ended up choosing the special of the day, which was the grilled tuna sandwich with a salad. We grabbed our drinks and waited outside for our meal. A few minutes later, our server arrived with our sandwiches. We thanked her, and then we quickly began to dig in. The sandwich was nothing short of a seafood symphony in our mouths, with the toasted whole grain bread as the trumpet, the caramelized onions as the violin, and the tuna as the saxophone played by Kenny G. We could not believe how good our lunch turned to be. It was all we wanted. After we finished, we returned our plates inside and thanked the owner, who I could tell knew that her meal had satisfied us. As we left, my friend whispered into my ear, "I can't wait to go back...".

Bean & Beyond to me is a perfect example of fine Steveston cuisine. For anyone who is planning on opening a cafe, I highly recommend using this wonderful place as a template on how your shop should be like.

Sincerely,

S.E.

Best breakfast in Steveston

I could only dream that all the restaurants in Stveston were as good as this one.

Whatever you order here - Quality is obviously what they put first!

The Eggs Benny are ridiculously good. I had mine with the bacon, they put it on foccacia bread , 2 perfectly poached eggs, side salad tasted awesome, strawberry vinagrette and you could taste the quality of the olive oil they use in the dressing, I was stuffed. I had a Large Cappuccino as well, theirs are the best around. I have eaten here previously and between me and my wife have tried 3 of the panini's as well, the Turkey camembert cranberry is good, the roast beef + roasted onions plus cheddar is really good, and the roma tomato + feta is also very good, I look forward to trying the quiches and eventually the golden waffles as well.

The only thing is the place is a bit small, but they have done very well with what they have.

Steveston needs to get its act together. more than half the restaurants there just plain suck.

I always walked past the open window and the tables but finally went into Bean & Beyond Cafe a few months ago. The owner and his staff were incredibly friendly. The amazing smell inside made me so hungry and gave me a warm feeling. I love the vegetable quiche - it is my favorite. My son likes the white chocolate cranberry muffins. The cafe mochas were custom made for us and huge - delicious. I used to go to Starbucks but now I prefer Bean & Beyond! I want to try the fresh-grilled panini sandwich next and the eggs benny.
