@ Ease is a Taiwanese restaurant that also serves bubble tea.
my taiwanese friend dragged me here. i dont think ive had taiwanese food before. i forgot what my friend ordered for me, but it was so good i ordered another one for takeout. service is pretty good, they actually LOOK around to see if anyone needed anything. i forgot about how much it cost, because my friend paid for me, but ill treat him back next time we visit.
I have been coming to this place for the past 3 years and have always been very satisfied.
ambience: clean, bright, spacious seating arrangements (tables not too close to each other)
food: solid, authentic Taiwanese food. Have tried most dishes and appetizers, they were all pretty good.
service: friendly, polite, and prompt.
value: excellent. Compare to other bubble tea places they are about 50 cents to 1 dollar cheaper on drinks and food item.
compare to other Taiwanese BB tea places you are not seated too close to other people, and not being serviced by high school girls where attitude is often a problem. I like to eat here instead. The food being delicious and better prices are a bonus.
Food: Had the house noodle soup which was average (I prefer Dinesty better even tho more expensive) . I found that the brisket was very fatty which I dont prefer. The pancake beef wrap had very fatty meat in it as well. My b/f had the fish cake fried rice. Nothing special, neither poor nor spectacular. We had the logan/ginger tea. A tad on the sweet side, but we still enjoyed it. I think I would've give 3stars if it werent for all the "fattiness".
Service: Very polite and courteous. Mind you we were the only 2 patrons for a while before another couple joined us. Food arrived promptly.
Value: For the price, the portion and quality is appropriate.
Ambiance: Very quiet when we were there. Very clean and bright. Modern and minimalist type decor. Washroom was clean.
I like to eat here because it's a very relaxing place to be. They got free WiFi. Nice.
Food is decent. Some dishes are very good, some are just OK, but I never had bad dishes. Drinks are really good. I love the drinks. They taste refreshing and not artificial.
Service is really good. They are very polite and fast. Can't complain.
In terms of value, it really depends what you order. I think value is above average. You will leave there with a full stomach for sure.
I like the ambiance because I feel relaxed. I am not rushed. The seating arrangement is excellent. Tables are far away from each other, so you have full privacy. You can talk about anything with your friends and no one can hear you unless you talk in really high volume. The place is clean.
Overall, it's a good dining experience. I hope their business will do very well because they are very nice people.
After a year of not coming back we decided to come back for this place for dinner.
Food: I ordered the salty peppery chicken pieces on rice with a green tea combo, friend had the taiwanese saugsage on rice. Both were very good not too salty taste that makes you thirsty after. As mentioned, the chicken pieces tasted like from church's chicken not the usual taiwanese places of this original classic dish. The taiwanese saugsage was very tasty and flavourful, not too overwhelming.
Value: Both combos in the neighbourhood of $9 that includes a drink so it is considered as average.
Service: Not a big restaurant so service was pretty slow but very attentive when waitresses were free.
Overall: Would come back now and then but not frequent due to maybe other taiwanese establishments to try. 7.5 out of 10
I often go to this restaurant with my mom to eat lunch. Their noodles are pretty good in my opinion and the strawberry milkshake tastes absolutely great!! Hard to find a strawberry milkshake that I like, so this is a big bonus for me.
The washroom is all nice and clean, not like other chinese restaurant with dirty washroom. The service is great and the waiter is polite.
Overall...it is a good restaurant to go to. But I'd recommend not to order the meat ball soup that they have. It is tasteless and not as good.
If you enjoy taiwanese food, @ease is the place to be. Almost as good as Lin's Taiwanese Kitchen used to be, there's plenty of space and the food is very authentic. Portions have gotten a little smaller since opening, but that's only because they used to be outrageously excessive, haha. Apps and sides are great, but I recommend pork chop, chicken leg and meatball (z chi tao) rice... mmmmmmmmm
Just moved to Richmond and I'm looking for new eats. Been to quite a number of Taiwanese BBT restaurants in Vancouver and in Richmond, however I just discovered @ Ease while driving by NCIX in Richmond. Checked it out yesterday and it was superb! Ok, so we were hungry... but still, it was pretty good. Has some "authentic Taiwanese" eats (snacks) that I've never seen in other restaurants and some staples (fried buns with condensed milk). With an order of rice, they include the typical "side dishes" in most Taiwanese BBT shops now -- like some veggies (corn and Chinese veggies). Wonton in Chili sauce is good... a bit "different" though, as they add something else besides chili...maybe vinegar? Not sure... but it tastes great!
Every day of the week, a special BBT is offered for 2.75. Pretty good. Pearls are nice and chewy too, not overdone.
Fridays, after 830pm and Saturdays after 930pm, you get 15% off, I believe. Hopefully someone else can confirm, as my ability to read Chinese is limited. Everything is in English except that one sheet about 15% off.
Ambiance is alright. Not spectacular but not bad too. Seats are comfy.
I'll be back... and that's saying lots!
