We've tried this place for a few times. The food just typically seems to be cheap and good tastes. Breakfast is the best meal here, but I still think it is the same as Danny's and IHop.
We all love the great tastes that can be created when food is deep fried. What is even better in our increasingly health-conscious society is knowing that the frying oil is heart healthy.
In an area where visible English signs are scarce, this place could be considered whitey's last solace. The food is average but very reasonably priced. I will go here occasionally for breakfast and stick with the staples such as bacon and eggs. The hashbrowns are simple and tasty. I have never eaten here for lunch or dinner but I am sure it is acceptable if you don't get too creative with the menu.
Come here with my family often. We like the relaxing atmosphere, very "homey". Service is always great, although can get really slow at times (so don't go if you're in a hurry!). Food tastes fine, but nothing too exciting. Love their cornbread though. Comfort food in a comfortable environment. Just one complaint: tried their Sunday brunch once, didn't feel it was worth it as variety was lacking (no pancakes or French toast either).
We went there for lunch today (Sunday) the first time as we were a bit tired of the chinese food in the surrounding area (me and my wife are both chinese). This turns out to be a pleasant surprise! I ordered a beef dip and my wife ordered the pork sandwich. We were not disappointed. In addition, their fries are excellent ..no salt, and crispy.
I ordered a cranberry juice with soda, I usually get mostly water with little juice in other restaurants but this restaurant did it just right. Kudo to them. When I compare them with Denny's, White Spot I think ABC beats both of them hands down.
When you first walk in, you get a bit of a cozy feeling and then are greeted by friendly employees...9/10 times. One of the counter workers yelled at us once. Giving it a chance after that redeemed the place. Anyways, the service at the tables is unbelievable. These guys could really sweet talk you into giving huge tips if you aren't careful XD. The only problem is the food, but I guess that's my own fault. Never order the same thing over and over at ABC. It gets dull. ABC has a fairly wide selection of food for a good reason, and you should take it to your advantage and experiment. Recommended..
I'd only visit this restaurant for kids' sake! It's one of their favourites though I've only managed to find a few of their menu items tolerable -- I can't remember which, to be honest. The entrance area is my favourite spot in this restaurant, however. While waiting to pay the bill at the cashier, I'd take time to look at the array of little stuffed toys being sold as souvenir, sometimes even taking the time to play with this machine in the corner. Of course, I never manage to grab any prize :D
Been to this place a few times. Nothing here really stands out except for the nachatos. That's pretty good but not sure if its worth the price.
The pasta is not very good, I would not recommend it. The noodles are way too overcooked.
Recommendation: Other than the nachatos, nothing really stands out. This is a very western/traditional restaurant. Worth a try if you haven't been.
I love this restaurant! But because the price is a bit high for my family, we don't get to go there too often. I have been there to eat for breakfast a few times and I have to say that it is absolutely delicious.
The service is great. The waitress are always so friendly & they always come by to ask you if the food is O.K, etc.
Dinner is very good too. I love their appetizers...so you should check that out. This is a very nice restaurant to go to!
We've been to this ABC many times, and found that everything with it is consistent. The quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere.
The food is always good, but not exceptional or notable. The servers are friendly and prompt, but can get busy or stretched thin at times. The atmosphere is mature, conservative, and takes no chances.
Generally, if you're looking for good food, at a quiet place with good service, this ABC is a good option.
this restuarant used to be a favourite of mine when i was little, but not anymore. the service is poor, and very very slow. it takes around 30 minutes or more for the food to come.
they provide 'buy 1 get 1 half off' coupons in the richmond news paper which makes a good deal.
i would reccomend the cactus cut nachoes, for sharing. they are mexican style pieces of friend potatoes, topped with guacamole, salsa, sourcream & other condiments.
Totally agree!
We used to frequent this ABC for breakfast almost weekly...BUT, we stopped going because the music is always TOO LOUD!
Generally good music, but one shouldn't have to shout at the person across the table to have a conversation.
And, quite frankly, we got tired of asking them to "please turn down the music".
You'd think they'd get the drift, but obviously not. Too bad for them, as we've taken our money elsewhere.
My husband and I have a very specific rule. We don't eat in restaurants that are remotely dirty, or will make us sick. We were very impressed by how immaculate the premises were. The cutlery was clean. We were in a booth with our 15 month old son, and they had stacked two high chairs so he could reach the table. (unfortunately, that's not really the best solution, since he was rocking the highchair as a result, but they did try to bring him closer to the table that way.)
The food was good, with minimal wait. We will be going there again in future.
For Seniors this is THE place to go. The Seniors menu gives you good food at an affordable price, and it is all inclusive.
The service is outstanding, but management should consider another source for their music.
Other than that A NICE PLACE TO EAT..
Well this place does remind me a lot of my own home for its ambiance becuase it feels very cozy and homey, The food (burgers and chicken strips) are very good though I find it a bit greasy. Their serving sytle is very nice such as their iced tea in jam bottles and other things. The service was too slow which made me a little iffy because I was getting very hungry. But overall it is a great family resaurant that everyone would enjoy.
I really like this place as a family or couple's dinner stop. My wife and I go here with some friends of ours and the food is always good, the service is prompt, and the atmosphere is nice. I do hear that before 5:30 pm on weeknights, the place is filled with "white hairs" or retirees, so it might be hard to get a spot, and don't bring any crying kids, they may not like it. I would recommend this place to anyone, though.
Yes the restaurant does indeed serve up some delicious food and the service is friendly and polite, but lots of people complain about the music? Sure it's a family restaurant, but they've turned up the stereo a notch too loud. But if you're with others and lots of talking, you'll hardly notice the music and just have a good time.
Overall food and service is cosistantly good. Unfortunetly the music volume, on any given day, is too loud.
This is a problem with several other chain restaurants in the Lower Mainland. When paying good money for 1 or more, we should not have too feel like we just walked into a any Teeny Boppers clothing outlet.
Granted the music at ABC isnt bad club music, it is to often to loud.
