I have never in my life been in such a dirty retaurant. The service or lack there of is more like it and no one cared about what i wanted or if my order was prepared properly. I would not let my dogs eat here! And it would be nice if someone spoke english since this is Cananda!!!
There is a warm ambience right when you walk into Cafe Orange. Our waitress greeted us with a big smile and she had a lovely presence. We were seated quickly and drinks were brought to us. We started off with a bowl of Miso soup (it comes with every meal, on the house). I'm a huge soup fan, and the miso soup wasn't anything to rave about but it was a good starter. I forget the name of the dish my mother ordered but it had vegetables, white rice, delicious melt in your mouth meat and an AMAZING sauce. It's like Edo Japan stepped their game up 20x. I ordered a crispy roll (tempura shrimp, cucumber and crab? I think?) and it was drizzled with some sort of spicy chili sauce. This was one of the most outstanding rolls I've ever eaten. It was just the right amount and my mother's dish left you perfectly full. The ambiance in this cafe was very zen and it had very eccentric music playing. The interior decorating inside this establishment was inspiring. I would definately eat here again, no questions asked!
I went for the "well" advertised lunch buffet for $9.99. While I was getting my lunch, the waiter put down a cup of spiced tea. The food was luke warm but okay. Before I left, a couple of ladies had finished and were paying for there meal and commented on how expensive it was for two people. So when I left, I was charged $9.59 plus $2.00 and then tax. I questioned him and he said it was tax and extra for the tea, which I did not ask for and the price was now $12.09. I argued with him about the change and pointed out the $9.99 buffet and he told me it was old pamphlets and his signs were not changed because he hadn't had time. That is not my fault, I told him and it was misleading the public with his advertising. Very poor manners and rude to the point of him basically telling me to leave and not come back because I complained. So there you have it in a nuit shell. BEWARE!!!
Went to this place on May 29th, 2010. It was amazingly busy. Every table was taken, and there was a line up at the door. We waited in line as there was a pleasent manager on hand, trying to get everyone seated. Considering the circumstances he was quite calm and handled everyone with great respect. There must have been at least 20 people waiting at the door,(with more coming) and we only waited about 20 minute before he got us seated. When he seated us we were sceptical that we would even see a server for a while, but within not even 2 minutes we saw the manager pointing the server to our direction and had a server at our table taking our drink order. Like I said it was amaingly busy. There were anoucments of a "Steak night" happening, and UFC fights coming up, and I guess game one of the Stanley Cup was on. Our group of four were joking that it was going to be a long night as judging on how busy it was and that our drinks and food would be taking forever. But once again they proved us wrong. Our drinks were at our table 3 minutes after we ordered them. Unreal. This was the topper. We had some appetizers and two meals. We had the Beef Dip with Lagers(Must try the Lagers with dill dip) and a steak sandwich. Once again we got settled in, as from our seats we could see the open kitchen and how busy they were. It litterally was not even 15 minutes and our food was sitting in front of us. This place knows what its doing, from garnishing the delisious cream of potato soup with shredded cheese and green onions, to the massive amount of beef in the beef dip. The steak was just as descibed, tender and cooked perfectly. This was not "Pub Food" this was restaurant quality. The appetizers were awesome too. Everything was hot and fresh, and quick, when the place was over full of people? This totally boggled our mind. We could not get enough, our server never let us get our drinks below a quater of a glass before asking if we wanted another, and people you have not lived until you have tried a Caesar from there. They put pickles and little peppers in them. Delicious! Anyways, just thought I would write it up. I am a Southender that is going to be hanging out in the Northend. Very Imprsessive!
