Enjoyable lunch
Submitted Wednesday, July 6, 2016 - 5:43am [Dine in]

I have been in here for lunch a few times. The menu has traditional pub fare but I tend to repeat dishes I really like. I am a fan of their nachos and mac and cheese. The shrimp dumplings with a spicy mustard are also good. The place is spacious and has a lot of tvs. The service was very good.

enjoyable evening
Submitted Wednesday, March 7, 2012 - 4:18pm [Dine in]

I went to Mandaly for the first time last night. The menu has a lot of different types of cuisine so I would not call this a steak house.

The quality of food was good , the pricing reasonable and the service excellent. Plus they have a nice variety of wine options.

It was a slow tuesday night so know wait for anything.

Great Food but limited seating
Submitted Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - 9:25am [Dine in]

I have really enjoyed my lunch time visits to this spot. The food is always excellent and the service is good.
However, it is a small place so seating is limited. But for me what compounds the problem is they close lunch time off at 2pm. So your window to get in is short.

I have been going here for the past 5 years. The food is always solid and have never been disappointed. Prices are decent as well. One thing I must point out is they have a nice variety of affordable wines which is also good. Overall you will get good value for your money and the portions are more than enough.

I would recommend this place to others and I will be back.

Latin Quarter1305 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
good food mediocre service
Submitted Thursday, August 20, 2009 - 4:19pm [Dine in]

I went to The Latin Quarter on a Tuesday Night with a buddy. Even on a slow night finding a parking spot was tough. We ordered a variety of dishes for sharing. We enjoyed the food, very tasty.
However the service was mediocre. We ended up ordering two dishes that were similar and the server did not point it out. Plus I hate having to remind servers about water. For me this is a basic duty.
Also I must add it was not busy.
I am sure I will try it again at some point since the food was good.

A good time in an unlikely spot
Submitted Thursday, August 20, 2009 - 4:07pm [Dine in]

I have been there twice, and both times I have been pleased with the quality of food. It is located in a strip mall in white rock but the iinterior is just like a downtown restaurant. The price is reasonable for the quality of food. The linguini alla vongole was the best I ever had.
The server mentioned these are the same pwners as the water street cafe in gastown. I have been there twice and will go again. Plus I will recommend this to others.

Good first time visit
Submitted Wednesday, February 11, 2009 - 8:51pm [Dine in]

My buddy and I wanted to try a new restaurant and a new location. So we went to New West and I read some decent reviews about this restaurant. I like the location, easy parking since this was a mid week visit. I liked the view of the river and the surroundings were pleasant. The selection had lots of options. I tried the beef patties appy which was good and healthy portion. My buddy loved the appy lamb chops. Unfortunately the saganaki was just too salty for our liking. overall it was a nice time out and good quality food at a nice price. I will be back.

dining out on a budget
Submitted Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 7:09pm [Dine in]

If you notice a lot of young people out for dinner here; you shouldn't be surprised. This is a place if you're dining out economically. The quality of food was average. If you can afford more, this city has a lot more quality grrek restaurants to try. It is in a good location and the ambience is nice. Its just there wasn't anything we ordered that I would say was memorable.

A nice evening
Submitted Sunday, January 11, 2009 - 6:58pm [Dine in]

I have been there twice in the last month with friends. Both times I was happy with the meal. The eggplant parmesan was good not great; but the other dishes I and my friends had were well received. Had some good wine too. The price is below high end but the overall value was good. I am sure I will be there again.

Comfort food is right
Submitted Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 11:39am [Dine in]

Boy, I can't think of a better way to describe the cuisine than comfort food. I went with my buddy (both first timers) and we both had a good dining experience. I know its hard to believe, but we both loved the macaroni and cheese as an appy. I feel when the cold weather really starts to hit more people will be coming to get close to the fireplace.

Nice night out
Submitted Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 11:34am [Dine in]

My friend and I went to the Red Door a few weeks ago. For me it was my first time. The place had a very nice ambiance and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good, and well proportioned for sharing. If I had to do it again, I would order more appetizers for sharing and skip the entree. There were amny items I wanted to try. I recommend the Red Door for a good night out dining experience.

good quality
Submitted Wednesday, October 15, 2008 - 4:59pm [Dine in]

This is a nice quaint place off of Arbutus. The food isn't cheap but it is of a high quality. It also has a patio which can be good for summer. A nice variety of dishes and a decent wine selection. Plus this is one of the few places that serves cornbread. I love cornbread!

I have been there a few times with friends and it hasn't disappointed.

Solid choice
Submitted Wednesday, June 25, 2008 - 11:55pm [Dine in]

I love Lebanese cuisine, an this place delivered. It has a nice atmosphere plus setting. The quality of food was good and reasonably priced. Make sure you have proper directions because it might not be that easy to find if you don't know Vancouver. We went on a Wednesday Night so parking was not a problem. I will be returning.
