oh, so it's our fault?
Submitted Friday, June 6, 2008 - 12:17pm [Dine in]

Went here late night (about 10pm)with a group of friends for a drink and some bites to eat. Nothing big, nothing fancy. Part of our group was already seated out on the patio. We stood with the six of us to see if we could move a table over. No one even greated us !

So we moved inside and were given a big round table by a manager. We sat there for 15 minutes with no one greeting us. No water, nothing. We thought we might have a couple more people join, so we asked someone if the table next to us, which was bigger, was available. We were told sure, but they would have to clean it first (well, duh!)

So we waited. Turned out we wouldn't have more people so I got up and told the manager we wouldn't need the bigger table after all, but that we would need someone to take a drink order from us. "Well you weren't sure if you were moving or not." okay, I'll give him that, but SOMEONE could have stopped by to greet us and offer water while we waited.

So we ordered drinks and food at the same time ("Wait, I'll have to get a piece of paper"). Food arrived and was okay, but no real service. I think we ended up being served by a manager instead of a server. No refills offered, no additional drinks suggested (wine or cocktails) The idea is to increase how much we spend, right???

meh, it's an Earl's with a differnent name

seriously, being here is pretty much like being at Earl's. Same menu, same decor, same tarted up girls. They even serve the same super skinny fries from McCain's.

I will say that the fish tacos and the bathrooms are outstanding. It's close to work, so I will probably be back, but not with a large group and not when I have a limited amount of time.

it's a good thing

Okay, so I think CinCin has changed management and chef since we last went. Actually, I know they've chnaged chefs. Normally hubby and I are suspect of these sorts of changes because, well, it indicates something was amiss. However, this is not the case with the recent changes. Although the level of service and atmosphere is still the same great experience as by the previous manager, it's the food and presentation that are even better than before. The portion sizes have increased, which is refreshing when all other restaurants seem to be putting out smaller and smaller portions. I ordered the veal chop and hubby ordered the whole seabass. Both were quite large. the fish came bone in, but our server was quick and deft to de-bone the fish without issue. Great wines were recommmended as well (and there are so many to chose from, 15 whites and 15 reds available by the glass, as well as champange by the glass)

Dessert were sublime. Our server reccommended the tiramisu and the apple tarte. The tarte was seved warm with house made vanilla bean gelato. The tiramisu had this wonderful presentation in a chocolate cup, with praline crumble and candies pistachios around the plate.

Definately go and treat your taste buds.

This restaurant has been closed for over three years. Shame, because a lot of cash was dumped into it to remodel it fromthe old Fin's. It's now called Top Gun Sushi, and is doing quite well. (from what I understand, since they are still there three years later . . . Starboard Red was only open five months before declaring bankruptcy)
