Absolutely the best fish and chips I have had in the Vancouver area. For about $7.00 I got the one piece cod and chips, and I could have easily split it with a friend. The chips are homemade, the fish is fresh, the pieces of fish are large, the batter is perfect and not too thick or falling off. Nothing is oversalted. It has a decent sit down area, but of course for fish and chips I almost felt I had to do take-away.
The menu is fairly limited to fish and chips, but they had halibut and cod. Also some oyster and prawn dishes that did not interest me.
Overall, if you're in the area, a must try. If you're not, it's worth a drive.
Being from the east coast of the US, I have had a miserable time of it finding decent pizza in Vancouver. I have found it as close by as Bellingham, but Vancouver seems almost allergic to the concept. I was pleasantly surprised with Aria. It's still nothing near the size of what I would consider a decent pizza, and it ain't cheap, but it is very, very tasty. I have ordered from here a few times, and have no complaints. The phone service was friendly, and the order accurate and prompt. Getting the calzones seems to be a better deal than pizza, but both were yummy.
Where I live by Lonsdale I can easily walk to at least 7 sushi joints. I have tried most of them, but so far this is my favorite. There are a couple of reasons for this: the selection is good, the fish is fresh, and it's a total value. The woman who takes the order is always happyu to explain the special rolls, and greets you with a smile when you pick up your food. I have never had to wait beyond the time I was told it would be ready. If you're willing to wait an hour after you order, let the woman know and it'll be 10% off.
As far as the restaurant itself, like I said, it's a takeout, so no frills at all. But if you're looking for good sushi at a good price without a long wait, this is the place! It's easy to miss, it's tiny. Also, one drawback is they're closed on Sunday.
I am so happy to have discovered this little bargain, an all you can eat place in the middle of downtown, right by Robson.
For less than $30 my husband and I had a feast of sushi, which was delivered to out table promptly and efficiently. This is the type of all you can eat where you are seated, a check off menu is brought to you and you choose what you want and it is brought right to you. the menu had plenty of items, there was no skimping on the fish, true there was no sashimi, unless you paid a little extra, but the nigiri had generous pieces, and the cones had big chunks of fish as well.
It's a decent atmosphere, and was quite popular for a Sunday. We arrived early and had no wait at all, and people were still being seated right away when we left after an hour. I have no hesitations recommending this restaurant for a bargain, above average sushi place!
I live in North Van and I discovered this place and am so happy I did! I have not tried the pizza, but the Indian food is amazing. Unlike much Indian food it is not too salty, and they spice it just the way you ask for. I usually order over the phone, and the guy is always very friendly, and delivery is always hot and fast as well.
Nice selection of vegetarian and breads! Have not had a bad dish yet!
The only reason I went to this place was because some out of town friends were staying at the Hilton nearby and they suggested it. It was some of the best sushi I've had. It tasted fresh, the menu had plenty of selections, the staff was efficient, albeit rather reserved, and the prices were unbelievable.
Most of the seating is booths with high backs, which is also a plus in my book. Highly recommended!
I went here for a company luncheon, thanks goodness i didn't have to pay for this awful experience. The place was so loud you had to shout over the noise. The food was uninspired and way too salty. Also, the choices were dreadful, almost nothing healthful on the menu. It was also way overpriced. I had a little piece of salmon, with carrots and beets, like the cheapest vegetables on the planet, and it was close to $20!
I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone!
Simply said, the best sushi in North Vancouver. Every single time I've eaten there, or gotten take out, the food has been flawless. Service is friendly, unlike other sushi places on Lonsdale, and not too overpriced. Very good special rolls as well.
Sorry guys, I wanted to like the pizza, with the great toppings, and the fact it's organic and all. But it just didn't make the cut. The crust was tasteless, and the sauce was, well, I don't remember. In fact it was fairly forgettable all around. And not cheap either.
Just tried this pizza after having tried several on and along Lonsdale. This was one of the best I have tried in vancouver or North Vancouver. Beautiful pizza, and the crust is A-friggin-mazing.
A little pricey, but super good.
I can't rate the restauarant based on anything else, but I highly recommend the pizza!
