Terracotta Modern Chinese52 Alexander Street, Vancouver
2nd Visit and looking forward to the 3rd
Submitted Sunday, September 26, 2010 - 4:37pm [Dine in]

Went to Terracotta on Friday for my second time. We arrived at 7:00pm and was seated on the top level where we got the last table for 2. The food was to-die-for our favorite dish was the spring rolls I've never had anythingn like it before. Our server Christina was helpful and polite. On my last visit I did not try desert but this time we ordered the mango pudding which we were told is made fresh in-house, it was amazing, I highly recommend it. Great evening overall perfect place for dinner with friends or a date.

Joe Forets has yet to dissapoint. I have been here with my wife in the double digits and we have yet to have a bad experience. A true gem in Vancouver's restaurant industry, do yourself a favor and try the 16oz ribeye...its the real deal.

The service and ambience are second to none, these are career servers and it shows.

Mediocre sea food, lackluster service
Submitted Friday, May 14, 2010 - 1:55pm [Dine in]

Don't you hate it when you need change back from your server of which 15%+ will be their tip, and it takes them 20 minutes to bring it back, almost as if they hope you get impatient enough to just leave therefore surrendering all your change? Well, this is exactly what happened to me at Keddle of Fish.

Let say it would have been less annoying had the service or food been spectacular, or parking was easy to find, but with none of these qualities I look for in a good restaurant missing, my experience was very lackluster at best.

The one positive is the room itself, its very warm, and the exterior is a reminder of an older generation of restaurant with architectural character. I'm hoping that I ended up with a terrible server out of luck however and that other people have a better experience.

Great rolls, tapas need some work!
Submitted Friday, May 14, 2010 - 1:49pm [Dine in]

I have been to Miku on 3 different occasions, its a place you want to go for a special occasion, only because its almost impossible not to spend $25-$30 per person.

I found the Ambaru (might not be spelling this correctly) rolls really great, they are basically charcoal flamed rolls which are super yummy. The appis however were not that spectacular, specially the calamari and prawns. I found the portions to be a bit small, and the batter to be too thick.

The service was great, the staff is really enthusiastic about the food and expect to be greeted by the entire restaurant upon entering and leaving!

All in all, I will go back for a special occasion!
