Donair Paradise, indeed!
Submitted Saturday, July 28, 2012 - 8:54pm [Dine in]

Been here on several occasions. Hand down, my favorite donair joint.
It is very close to where I live and it's more affordable and filling.

The donairs are usually stuffed with goodness of your choice. The meat is always good, felafel too.
You get to chose if you want it more spicy or add/leave out ingriedients.

Sometimes there's a bit of a line but it's worth it.
The guy that usually works there is very friendly and personable.

Most people around New West know it and love it. I'm a satisfied, returning customer for sure.

great find!
Submitted Saturday, July 28, 2012 - 8:28pm [Dine in]

My boyfriend was told about this place at work. We went there earlier today with his mother. Although it's a touch dark and noisy, the place is awesome. Not small, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, open kitchen.. felt quite comfortable and clean.
Portions are generous and a good selection on the menu. The value is ridiculous, I didn't expect much when I saw the price but I was pleasantly surprised!
We had steak and it was done right (we asked for med-rare). The clam-chowder was large (shared one between 2 people) and tasted nice. And we had the chicken soulvaki which was tasty and moist.
The coffee was just okay. But we didn't care.

Definitely we are coming back.

very little place with the biggest flavour!

I have to admit I adore this restaurant. I've even learned to like the small and somewhat claustrophobic space.
And probably, being small is the only downfall.

Most of my friends I've brought here were skeptical at first (the neighborhood isn't great).

The service is very polite and quite efficient. They are happy to answer any questions about their food and accommodate your needs.

Top notch Indian cuisine with a modern twist. Their meat is never dry, their rice is scrumptious, the sauces are divine. Selection is a little different every time but things like butter chicken and the greatest nan bread are a daily ordeal.

Mondays are super cheap. There is a buffet all week long but Mondays it's something like $8.

great fish and chips!

First of all, you can't beat the price. Mon - wednesday is all you can eat for under $10.
It's not a fancy place for sure but the waitresses are professional enough and the service stands out.
Condiments are readily available and the pop is included in the price of the ayce!

One slight complaint is that the batter on the fish is rather thick and oily for sure.

But it is still my guilty pleasure. :)

New owners and delicous dishes!
Submitted Tuesday, July 3, 2012 - 7:04pm [Dine in]

There are new owners and though the food kind of takes some time to arrive, the waitress is so pleasant and the place is inviting enough to look past it. The new owners used to own a further away place which was larger. I'm very glad they are now closer for me to drop in more often.
Food is solid, good taste, temp and amazing price.

So very worth the little you pay for a great dish!

When you dine in, the staff seems annoyed to see you. I am not sure why but they're noticeably cold and short with customers. The food is alright at best but for the price and the treatment from staff it is a waste of money.
Portions seems to be on the small side and there's a bit of a wait for your food.

The place is nice inside but I do not see myself returning...

The actual restaurant is small-ish but comfortable enough. I tend to order for pick up (it's so close to my home!). The menu features various yummy dishes. I appreciate especially their attention to detail. Food does taste better when it is prettier. The people running this place (a family, I think) are extremely accommodating and pleasant. For some reason people love this place like myself or dislike it completely.

Submitted Saturday, June 30, 2012 - 7:08pm [Dine in]

Ki sushi offers a good quality dining experience from service to value. The food is fresh and portion sizes are fair. I've tried dine-in and take-out and was satisfied every time. It's nothing overly new or different - it's a very standard sushi menu but I appreciate their constant service. Would def recommend to friends and family.

This place inside was quite nice inside and pretty neat. The food was great, wide selection. My favourite of the night was their sashimi. They give you decent pieces and it was just tastey enough to make me salivate remembering about it. Nothing seemed at all lacking and the bad reviews really don't make sense to me. The first waitress was a touch rude but I'm guessing it was end of her shift (it was also after 11PM), the next male server was great. I like that they are open until 2AM. I will be def returning :)

You will get what you pay for here. Slightly more, maybe. The food is all deep fried or heavy but GOOD. Unfortuneatly a little too cold. Excellent wanton and hot and sour soup. Lots of fresh fruit, too.
The staff is very friendly and warm. The ambiance is well ok. The actual dining area is large enough.

Good food. A nice enough selection. Nan bread is refilled upon request. Service might be a touch lacking but polite.
The place is real quiet and never seems busy. But that kind of makes it intimate and perhaps more enjoyable.
The place looks clean, the washrooms are clean.
For what you pay you get more. I'd recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Why complain?
Submitted Thursday, December 15, 2011 - 11:42am [Dine in]

There's things like food temp and sometimes lesser selection. Otherwise, you get very good fried chicken, number of stews and soups and Asian inspired dishes. The salad selection is always fresh and tastey. there is no way you'll get more for your money anywhere else.
The servers are awesome. Oh, and there's fountain drinks and coffee and dessert.
There is nothing wrong with this place unless you go in with a mind set of expecting a fine dining experience.

My boyfriend and I come here sometimes. The food is good if you know what to order. The breakfast deals are yummy. Burgers are quite good too. I especially appreciate the meatloaf. loaded with onions and mushrooms.
the food tends to be heavy/greasy. But a lot of good food isn't waist friendly.
The service is good, the ambiance is mediocre.
it's not fine dining by a long shot but it's good eats.

Submitted Thursday, December 15, 2011 - 11:35am [Dine in]

I've tried dining here on number of occasions. The place is dingy and there's this stale sort of smell in the air. The waitresses every time I've been there (4-5 times) have been irate and almost bored of their job.
You can ask for water six times and on the seventh, if you are lucky, they'll carelessly pour it all over your glass and table.
I know the price is low but c'mon. Not THAT low.
The food is well edible, some of it. the sushi is a nightmare. The dim sum is clearly old and carelessly made.
the selection is little. I don't know why I tried this place so many times. The one okay thing is crab they offer for dinner but there's no way in hell I'm paying this place more even if there is crab.

Submitted Saturday, September 10, 2011 - 10:33am [Dine in]

This place is in no means a "dine in" spot. with maybe 6 small sized tables and few chairs.
burgers are alright, chicken burger is really very bad. Otherwise tasty grub!
Woman behind the counter, wife of the owner I am told, is cute as a button. Accommodating and polite.
If you do decide to dine in, tons of mags and newspapers.

The food is alright. Nothing to write home about but at a very decent cost. && I must say their Bánh mì or Vietnamese sub is outrages, && affordable! Especially tastey is their lemon grass chicken.
Ambience, well it's there.Bland but atleast clean.
Service is funny, sometimes it's superb and other times it's d.o.a.

would maybe recommend to fam and friends.

oh, && they almost never have all the bubble tea flavours listed in their menu.

Nothing outstanding but nothing too bad to complain about.
Submitted Wednesday, August 24, 2011 - 10:04am [Dine in]

The food we ordered came fresh and in reasonable time. My husband loved the chicken karage here and my mother in law was very pleased with her gamae and salmon belly. And me, I loved my seared tuna and oysters....
The place is a tad crowded but it's not bad.
The service is solid and they do try to please each patron.
My #1 complain is the music. Maybe it was just that night but I swear it made me want to eat fast and go.

This place definately stands out amongst the other burger joints around. Burgers are generous, the sweet potato fries are addictive and sides and soups are very tasty as well.
I really liked the server for her knowing when to serve us and when to not. She was great and extremely friendly.....
value makes sense. seems like it's all a bit expensive but when you see the food you know why. No regret whatsoever about our food.

Nice tasting pizza. Haven't tried anything else, just pizza. Won't say it's some gourmet or out of this world pizza, but good. Better than most delivery pizzerias.
I've never seen the inside so the Ambiance is n/a.
Delivery guys are friendly and polite. Have always delivered my food on time.

Affordable and best of all lenient.

The phone orders are almost always on hyper drive. Customers who are not aware of the renovations of the restaurant stay loyal by ordering to-go.

The atmosphere inside is actually quite relaxed and suits all kinds of folks - Family/child friendly, great for group meals, romantic evenings, casual drop-ins.. etc. Open later than anything else in New West. The service is attentive and exceptionally polite, though a bit rushed and scattered when the dining room gets busy. Happens.
Ambiance is slowly but steadily improving. And the new owners evidently are putting in a lot of work to improve the dining experience of the patrons.

Value is just unreal + ALWAYS very delicious meals.

Would recommend to anyone who wants to eat like a king on a budget.
