Fresh, tasty rolls and good selection at a great price.

We have been here 4 times for takeout and the food is great. We haven't had a bad roll yet. Try the mango roll, tempura sweet potato roll (Yes! They know the difference between Yam and Sweet Potato!), and their dynamite roll. It's worth waiting 10 minutes for fresh sushi. If you're in a rush, order ahead of time and pick-up. This is pretty much a take-out sushi place but there are several seats for eat-in.

Nothing Special. Poor Dynamite Roll.

I've eaten at many a japanese restaurant even before they became popular in the lower mainland. If you have too, and you're looking for great sushi, this is NOT the place. I have yet to find a place that ewuals Akasaka in Mission or Sushiwa in Chilliwack. For me, a good judge of the quality of the food at a japanese restaurant is the Dynamite Roll (Prawn Tempura Roll). The prawn should taste fresh fried and still be warm, should have other goodies in there like avocado, cucumber, lettuce, tempura yam, and fish roe. Should definitely have toasted sesame seeds on the outside of the roll and the rice should not be gummy or too thick. Unfortunately, the Dynamite Roll at Seh-Mi was only fair with no yummy extras. The rest of the food was also just run-of-the-mill. Keep searching as we still are here in Langley. We might try the other Seh-Mi on 56th Ave.

My wife and I took my mom here for lunch on a Sunday and it was a disappointing experience. The waitress seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else and could hardly crack a smile. The food was mediocre and pricey for the portion you get. My wife's cheeseburger was a pass, my wor wonton soup was way too salty and very few won tons in it for $11. My mom's beef dip was really plain and the waitress had to ask us if we wanted water even after we ordered an alcoholic drink. Do you really need to ask? Water is cheap. Just serve it. The decor is really dull too. Should spend less money on t.v.s and more money on a decorator. Go somewhere else unless you just want a quick beer served by a zombie waitress.

Even though it is a small restaurant on the main street of Mission, the friendly service and fresh sushi will keep you coming back to Akasaka. I have them deliver to my house almost every weekend and they even delivered during one of those heavy snowfalls! I recommend the dynamite roll and the salmon cone sushi, but it's all great.

Don't waste your money or time going here

One the way in a waiter bumped shoulders with me and didn't even apologize. The woman at the counter was not friendly either and the restaurant decor is very plain and cold. The food was also plain. The 10 deep fried prawns were served with a mere tablespoon of sweet and sour sauce for dipping. The beef curry was tasteless. It was full of celery with spongy beef but it must have had only turmeric in the sauce because it was very bright yellow but almost no flavor. I will never waste my money eating there again. I suggest you don't either. I'd rather stay home with some instant Noodles!
