wednesday wings night out
Submitted Monday, August 25, 2008 - 12:22am [Dine in]

Coming here for about 3 years now but only on wednesdays. I would say a great place to hang out and have a few beers. Although I don't often order any type of food other then the wings, I would say that I keep coming back for only that. I normally get salt + pepper wings and ask for a bunch of sauce to self dip. I find it much better then ordering the wings that are aready flavored.
I can not explain but the atmosphere here cannot be beaten, and to understand that, you would have to go there yourself and enjoy what it is i am talking about.

One of my favorite dimsum place
Submitted Monday, August 25, 2008 - 12:16am [Dine in]

Other then the long 30-90 min waiting time everytime i go for dimsum. This has got to be one of the best place for dimsum. Having tried almost everything on the dimsum menu, I would rate all the food between 4-5 stars.
I have eatten here once for a birthday dinner and the food was delicious. The service was great, they had 5 waiter/waitress sing the happy birthday song with us and we only had 3 tables.
My most memorable food that night has got the be the fish. Can't say I knew what kind of fish it was but it's a soy sauce fish that is steamed with onions and ginger. The best fish I ever had.
I highly recomend this resturant to anyone as long as you have the paitents to wait for seats.

Flamingo Chinese Restaurant7510 Cambie Street, Vancouver
Another bad chinese resturant
Submitted Monday, August 25, 2008 - 12:05am [Dine in]

Was there for a birthday dinner and had 2 tables reserved. They had a little room made for us in the back of the resturant which was ok, but they were pushing the dirty unwashed dishes from the dining area into our room and into another door opening that problably leads into the kitchen!
The food was not up to my standards, the vegetables they served us was hard to chew. the crispy chicken was dry and submerged into soysauce! I have never seen it submerged in soy sauce anywhere and tasted awful.
I'm not sure if this is the same Flamingo resturant that used to be on Fraser and Kingsway, but if so then like the other thread, Flamingo has gone downhill.

good chinese seafood resturant
Submitted Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 11:43pm [Dine in]

A chinese seafood resturant with great service and good food. The price is on the high side but definatly worth what you are paying for.
I have heard they have people perform on the dance floor but have not yet seen so myself, which would be very interesting to watch during dinner.
I often pick up bbq meat from here during lunch time since i work close by and I often pick up bbq duck/soychicken/bbq pork. They have a pick up window for take out orders for the bbq selections and makes it alot easier when on the go for the short lunches i get.
I would recomend this resturant to anyone who wants to just have a eat out chinese dinner to throwing banquets.

Cattle Hot Pot Restaurant8391 Alexandra Road, Unit 1150, Richmond
great hot pot!
Submitted Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 11:26pm [Dine in]

The best hot pot place in town! I do not often eat hot pot, it's just not the type of food I like, but after coming to eat here, It showed me how good hot pot can be!
We had the cattle house spiciest soup base and the plain one for the second, and the spicy one was super spicy. I like spicy food and this was way out of my league, the food came quick when ordered and the quality of the uncooked meat/seafood was great.
I have ate here two times now and will definatly come back.

great price for cheap eats.
Submitted Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 10:59pm [Dine in]

I eat here approxmently once a week or two. the price for the food at a all you can eat sushi is very good compared to other all you can eat sushi places.

The service is good but very slow when it is busy, problem I find most is that they can never get the orders quantity correct. Other then that i find this place a great bang for the buck.

a little scared to go back.
Submitted Sunday, August 24, 2008 - 10:42pm [Dine in]

Went there at 1am for midnight snack with a few of my friends and the food tasted ok in general but bit into a sand in my vegetable. the waiter that served us was rude and the kitchen did look very shady. I would suggest not to go to this resturant at night time unless you are close by and nothing else is open.
