Chicken Delight7624 6th St, Burnaby
Not the Real Chicken Delight from Winnipeg
Submitted Tuesday, September 8, 2015 - 10:56pm [Dine in]

I had high hopes that a Chicken Delight would open in the West considering how many ex-Winnipegers live in the Lower Mainland now. Unfortunately, this only has the name and not the same menu or flavor as the ones in Winnipeg. So sad but at least there is Church's chicken here.

Good Price but food quality is lacking
Submitted Monday, June 21, 2010 - 10:25pm [Dine in]

In terms of price and size, you can't beat this place. Where else can you get a burger, fries and salad for around $7 bucks? Also they have these daily specials that are ridiculously priced. Today I had a huge plate of their Monday night steak special. There was a moderately sized steak, lots of tossed salad, rice and potatoes with sour cream. I ordered a medium well steak but it came very well done. The salad was very basic and I could have definitely made better ones myself. Of course for the $5.95 price, what was I to expect? The only thing is that they made you buy a drink too. In anycase, it came out to around $8 bucks. For this price, you can't even get the same food at a food court. In terms of service, the staff was fairly young and you can tell they were tired as there was only 3 wait staff for a busy night today. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you want a quick bite at an affordable price and are not too picky with the food quality. It does get busy sometimes though and I saw a staff member ask a table that was sitting there chatting to leave cause people were waiting at the door. Oh by the way, don't try the soup. I had two different soups there and both times, I regretted order them. I don't know what they put in their soups but it tastes horrible.

Very expensive for a HK style Cafe
Submitted Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 11:54pm [Dine in]

Well, it used to be that HK style cafes were places were people can go to get a quick bite without having to break their wallets wide open. It's not the case anymore and definitely not the case with Pittsburg Cafe. Well, if the food was actually any good, I would mind going and paying but if the food was not good, and the service wasn't either, then I don't see any reason for going to waste my money.

Food court type of food but double the price! Bad service as well = no repeat for me!
Submitted Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 11:52pm [Dine in]

The quality of food here is simply the same as the food upstairs in the food court. The only thing different is that here, you are expected to pay tips and if you pay less than what the old man wants, you'll hear from him. I am not sure if he's the owner or not, but he certainly seems to be from how he behaves. In any case, in terms of the food and food court type of ambiance, I will definitely not be back. Hope they smarten up and perhaps they'll get some more repeat customers rather than just new customers that accidently wander in.

Despite how cheap it is, it's not worth the money!
Submitted Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 11:46pm [Dine in]

Cheap, yes.. good food, definitely no! Well I guess you pay little so you get little as well. The hotpots are mostly msg water. It makes you feel more thirsty after drinking it. And they are quite skimpy on the ingredients as well. As for the Korean BBQ rice, it wasn't anything special. It could easily be made at home by anyone that has a can of sauce.

Poor Service ruins this restaurant
Submitted Saturday, June 12, 2010 - 11:38pm [Dine in]

In terms of taste, it is on par with other expensive Chinese restaurants in Vancouver. Yes, it's very pricey and can certainly take a big bite of your wallet. The service is as usual for any Chinese restaurant. It's only good when you know them and speak the same Chinese dialect as them. I only come here for the food, so despite getting so so service, I'll still come here once in a while when I feel like splurging a bit. Just make sure you don't ask or take any suggestions when the staff gives you any. They always suggest you get shark fin soup, Alaskan snow crab legs, lobster, prawns, clams, and fish. One time the waitress suggested I order a fish without them telling me the cost and it ended up being $70 dollars. It was the most expensive fish I've ever eaten and it tasted just very ordinary. When eating here, unless you want to dish out $40 or $50 per person, don't take their suggestions despite how much they try to bully you into ordering more food or keep on suggesting food for you to order.

Okay Sushi Restaurant
Submitted Sunday, January 17, 2010 - 11:52pm [Dine in]

Certainly very busy. The sushi as okay though. I would certainly come back more often if the service was a bit better. It seems more like a fast food restaurant than any normal dine in. If you want to avoid the rush, better come right when it opens or just before it closes.
