I'll start by saying that we're not fans of AYCE because we try to eat a lot, end up too stuffed, and could spend similar money elsewhere and be just as full on better prepared food in a better setting.
However, with that being said, when it comes to AYCE Japanese food, I would love to find a better place than Fish on Rice. The price is right and the food is great (for AYCE). No complaints. I recommend it to anyone who has a big appetite and can take advantage of the AYCE.

Food rating is 3.5. This restaurant doesn't look that great, but food and price is worth it. Who goes to chinese restaurants for ambiance anyway? It's always lots of people and always seems understaffed almost anywhere they serve good food at decent prices (am I wrong?). If you really need a nice classy place, you will not get a decent price, so this restaurant in my opinion is among my top 5 choices for chinese food (dimsum & dinner). If you don't include richmond, this restaurant is top 3 in Vancouver. Chinese restaurant lunch should be eaten at HK Cafe style with 2:00 specials, so if you are talking about lunch, you probably mean dim sum. Anyway, I don't live in Kerrisdale, but I like this restaurant and would go there more regularly if I were in the neighbourhood.
