Change is good
Submitted Monday, March 5, 2007 - 2:21pm [Dine in]

I used to go to this space years ago when it was the Riley. It was always a reasonable inexpensive experience but I often thought, considering its location, it could do with an upgrade. So with that said I am thankful the Nu came along. One can now have a drink at the bar while looking out at the boats and the ocean. The food is contemporary and up to date without being overly modern and sparse. The flavours and presentations are comforting and the service willing and genuine. This is one of those cases where change is actually good.

an old classic
Submitted Sunday, March 4, 2007 - 2:41am [Dine in]

Lunch here has always been a Vancouver experience for me. I have had many memorable experiences in the yellow house. Unfortunately my last Lunch visit was very underwhelming. My short rib dish was luke warm and lacked tenderness, my guest’s pasta was an average rendition of an old classic, and the desserts were uneventful. I have a feeling that Vancouver may have raised the bar past this type of dining. I think it is time for an upgrade.

Nice little place

I really like this little place for everything from a casual Sunday brunch to intimate dinner. The food is fresh and lively and the service genuine. They really seem to care about your experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
