Went to piatos with my girlfriend the other night, wrong choice I think. The server was very disenterested with us, and seemed to get annoyed when I asked her to stop suggesting wines as my girlfriend is pregnant. Service aside, food came out lukewarm at best. Portions were smallish, but i guess thats what is expected at a finer dining restaurant. Don't think i will be returning to this addition to kits. Tratorria accross the street is much better all across the board.
Try harder, and hire better wait staff

Went into Pinky's again a couple weeks ago on a Sunday night to sit at the bar and have dinner/drinks. The place was pretty much empty. I had been there on a friday with a group of friends and had a great time, and the bar was always full so i figured that it must always be like that. Unfortunatly not. The young bartender greated me warmly, and joked around with me, making me at ease to sit at the bar alone. Upon opening the menu I discovered that they changed the menu, and that some of my favorites had disappeared. The bartender clarified all the questions I had about the menu, and the menu change itself. She showed me all around the new menu, highlighting her favorite items, which I in turn tried that night for dinner. Overall, the meal was good. Nothing spectacular, but it was tasty. My steak was cooked to order, chicago med rare as suggestged..and found the cowboy salad to be quite filling.
All in all, i may go back again to try a few of the other options the bartender suggested. The service was great, even though she was serving other tables too. I noticed her tables were laughing a lot so that to me was a good sign. Kudos to Pinkys on sticking through the long boring nights
ps. Whatever happened to yaletown?
