Kam is a Legend
Submitted Sunday, December 15, 2013 - 8:20am [Dine in]

Kam has always provided friendly, prompt service. One time I went in and one of my kids was melting down. Kam immediately brought us some soup and didn't charge us. Another time he gave us free ice cream for dessert. Another time he gave us free take out food as we were leaving. He is really a great guy. The restaurant is good as well. Food quality and price match. The other servers are great as well. This is a place that was a staple in the West End and now when were are close by on Broadway we stop by as well. I can't understand how some people have suggested he is rude...that sounds impossible and doesn't make any sense. This guy is one of those genuinely good people that are sometimes rare to find on this planet.

Staple in the West End
Submitted Sunday, December 15, 2013 - 8:06am [Dine in]

Cheap, good food, quick and friendly service. This is a staple in the West End for Chinese food. Nuff said! If you need quick take out they have it ready in 10 or 15 minutes. My kids love to check out the fish tank and the staff always takes care of us. Why do these types of places have such awesome service, good food and good prices...yet places like the Cactus Club are so expensive, lack in service, and have waiters that demand huge tips? Mind boggling.

Pepitas Restaurant2015 Burrard, Vancouver
Overpriced basic mexican food
Submitted Saturday, February 5, 2011 - 11:13pm [Dine in]

Have been here two times. Went there with a large group the second time. The food is standard mexican fare except costs more than any other mexican restaurant i have been to in Vancouver. 20% gratuity was added to the bill because we had a large group. I always find this practice to be a joke. I suppose restaurants do not want groups larger than 6 to spend money at their establishments. They forgot my wife's meal and eveyone was almost done by the time she got it. The live music was entertaining. Wouldn't reccomend it. Andale's on broadway is at least as good if not better for cheaper.

Don Francesco Ristorante860 Burrard Street, Vancouver
Not bad but over priced in my opinion
Submitted Sunday, February 22, 2009 - 1:26pm [Dine in]

I enjoyed an evening here last night. We had a nice little private room in the back. It's an interesting place. Don was singing opera at random. That was probably the best part. The food was good, but the bill came to about $130 with two pasta entres, two appies and a few drinks. For pasta and salad I felt that was a bit too much $$. The service was good and they took extra care to remember our names and interact with us.

Falafel King1105 Davie Street, Vancouver
Best in the area
Submitted Wednesday, August 6, 2008 - 3:49pm [Dine in]

This is my favorite falafel place on Davie. I generally only eat the falafel. The woman and the man that work there are very friendly. All of the food looks good and I don't understand what the other person was talking about it being all dirty and not up to code...it's perfectly fine. I love the way they wrap the falafel and toast it and dip it in sauce...mmmmm check it out for sure!

Tomato Fresh Food Cafe2486 Bayswater Street, Vancouver
Healthier than a lot of places in the area...
Submitted Wednesday, August 6, 2008 - 3:45pm [Dine in]

I went here a few times and each time was good. Oe time was actually after walking into Fenies...Fenies is a restaurant close by. We sat down and the menu was weak...dirty chairs etc..so we went to Tomato Cafe. I love the fresh juices there. A lunch combo and juice was very reasonably priced. Each time the place seemed cold though...I guess living in the great Canadian north we should be used to that though. Check it out for sure!
