Had lunch here again today and it will probably be my last in a lonnnng time (unless I'm desperate! but how can one be "desperate" when there are sooo many sushi diners on Lonsdale?) The service was a lil like my first visit..very slow. My friend and I ordered a couple rolls and the chicken yaki udon dish. Though the noodle dish was piping hot, it lacked flavour AND the chicken was OVERCOOKED! Imagine that.. overcooked and lacking flavor! Not good. The sushi was decent, no complaint.
My girlfriend and I had lunch there this afternoon. We were excited to have a new Pho restaurant on the North Shore... the decor was ok if you like bright lime green walls and a continuous "hum" from the furnace? But this review isn't about the decor or your ear comfort?! It's about Pho food.. OK... so it's a rainy Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was fairly quiet for 1pm... about 4 customers or so. The service was very fast.. waitress fairly friendly. I ordered the vermichelli noodles with grilled pork slices and fried roll... it was just 'skay'... my g'friend ordered the grilled lemongrass chicken with fried roll and rice.. She said it was also just "skay".. The portions were decent, prices quite high for Pho but MOST importantly... it was lacking flavour unless you drowned it in their spicey vinegary sauce. Overall I'd give it a 3+ out of 5, because it really was JUST "S'kay"....
