My hubby and I love getting take out sushi from these guys. The tropical dynamite roll is so good (love the pineapple in it). He loves the teriaki beef roll and the katsu roll is is favourite. The tempura is yummy. Service is good when they're not slammed. Some of their servers are more personable than others. Some smile like they mean it while others look like someone stole their favourite pet or something. The restaurant is a lot nicer than it use to be. The renovations have made the room warmer and definitly more comfortable. There's actually space to sit and wait now where before, it was wait outside or get squished by the door. We do take out so we don't have to wait for a table though there is something to be said for dining in. The luxury of ordering more food on a whim..... more tropical dynamite rolls!!!

Girls lunch
Submitted Sunday, March 4, 2007 - 7:10pm [Dine in]

Went today for a girls lunch and we had a great time! The whole meal was wonderful from start to finish. We had the steamed mussels for a share appetizer and it was soooooo good! OMG! The mussels were huge and the portion size was great for sharing. some places give you barely enough to taste the food. Our dish had about a dozen huge meaty mussels in a lovely coconut thai sauce with tomatos. The deep fried tortilla shell(?) wasn't great tasting though. Tasted funny to me. Maybe the oil. I had the fish & chips and the fish pieces were very generous. A nice and tasty beer batter without being heavy in the stomach. My friend had a fish hash dish and she said it was really good. For dessert,.... creme brulee of course and it was fabulous as always. A generous portion with a yummy sweet carmelized top. Soooooo good. We love coming here for girls lunch and we're never disappointed. Service is almost always with a smile and the food has never let us down. Love it!

Good memories

I will always have good memories of this location. We dined here on a road trip with some friends and chose to eat here for cost factors (the other couple were living on a university student budget). Our server was so amazing for such a restaurant,.. I mean this girl would have made a killng in tips at a high end restaurant, she was that good! We were seated right away, she was at our table within minutes of us being seated. This was a crazy Saturday mid-day too! Our drinks arrived within 5 minutes of being ordered and our starter soups 5 minutes after that. As soon as they were done, she was right there with more beverages and to clear the soup bowls away. Lunches arrived a few minutes later with a smile and yet no interuptions to our conversations. Halfway though lunch, there she was with more beverages for us. Dishes cleared right away when all 4 of us were done (pet peeve when plates are removed one by one as they're done. it makes the fast eaters feel greedy and the slow eaters self conscious). Ice cream in front of each of us within 5 minutes of the lunch dishes being removed. Not once did we have to ask for beverages. Now, admittedly it's easier for servers to be on top of this with pop rather than alcohol but this young lady was just on top of her service. I think it may very well be the only time we've left a 50% tip for anyone anywhere. She was that good. Wow! I will always remember her fantastic service!

Glad my friend insisted on this place

Always a smile and a cheerful hello when we walk in the door. The food is not the usual crummy take out food. This place produces food that I really like and I'm picky about my chinese food! This is not greasy mystery food that makes your stomach hurt afterwards. Doesn't sit in your stomach like a rock. Very nice. The hubby and I stopped in on a "we're hungry" whim after some late appointments and we had our food ready to head home with in 10 minutes. From the time we ordered! They gave us some hot tea to warm ourselves with and before it was cold, we had our food to go. On our list of places to eat at for sure.

Always Good Service

My friends and I love to come here after long and crummy days at work because we know we're going to 1: have a good meal 2: get a genuine smile when the day has been total garbage 3: a place to unwind and let it all go. We always have the spinach and artichoke dip to start (always!) and it's just the best. I've tried for years and years to try and make it myself at home but to no avail. Probably a good idea otherwise I'd be eating it all the time. Their prime rib is a favourite as is the seafood pasta. Always consistently good. Our favourite server, Kim, is just a doll! She knows exactly how we like our orders and never misses a beat. We've been let down by these folks only once or twice and the place was just jammed on a Friday night both times. They fixed the problems up right away so we were ok with it.
