Santouka Ramen1690 Robson Street, Vancouver
Delicious, warm and rich ramen noodles
Submitted Thursday, November 17, 2011 - 2:23pm [Dine in]

There are few ramen restaurants in downtown area, but the one that stood out the most over this past year is Santouka Ramen at Robson Street. Last Friday, after a long snowboarding trip, my friends and I were tired. We decided to go to Santouka Ramen to have a nice bowl of hot soup and noodles. From the first spoon of soup, until the last drop of soup, we were amazed by how delicious the food was. The service was average, they could improve the way they handle customers during busy times. It was pretty loud inside the restaurant but I think that it fits the culture of casual Japanese restaurant. Overall, it should be on everyone’s “must try” restaurant list

Rakuraku Korean Cuisine5278 Kingsway, Burnaby
Nice, open late-night Korean restaurant
Submitted Thursday, November 17, 2011 - 2:19pm [Dine in]

Last night I went out with my friends to Rakuraku Korean Cuisine located at Metrotown area. It was late at night so the place was pretty quiet. There were 15 of us so I expected the food to take quite a while to be ready. Surprisingly, within 10 minutes, almost all of the food was ready (with the exception of the food that is really supposed to take longer to cook). The portion was huge and the food was delicious. The only downside to the restaurant is the décor (the décor was a little bit hectic). But overall, it did not affect us to enjoy our meal

Fulin Hot Pot Restaurant3025 Lougheed Hwy, #780, Coquitlam
Best Sukiyaki
Submitted Thursday, November 17, 2011 - 2:05pm [Dine in]

I’ve been to Fulin Hotpot several times over the past 2 years and each time, I came out of the restaurant satisfied. Last week, I invited my friends to eat there. There were 8 of us and we all live around downtown area, but because I told them how good the food is, they were willing to drive all the way to Coquitlam to try out the food. I had to make a reservation, as it is usually crowded. They have a selection of sukiyaki or hotpot. Their vegetables and meat are all fresh, the ambiance suits the theme of the restaurant and the service is excellent. We all went out of the restaurant with full stomach and all of us were glad to have made the long trip to try out this restaurant
