I am extremely disappointed with Well Tea. If they had been honest from the start, such as about being out of broth or other ingredients, a poor experience could have been easily avoided. I had been here before perhaps two months ago and I remembered the hot pot my friend had ordered then as being rather good as well as having enjoyed my drink.
On this occasion I ordered the same dish, a seafood hot pot, and it was the blandest thing I have ever ordered. There was no flavour at all to the broth, it was just water and cold seafood and some vegetables. Even after an hour all the "soup" tasted like was cabbage water, and everyone around the table agreed that it was incredibly bland and tasted like nothing more than cabbage. This was not the only trouble tonight, as out of our table of 7 they forgot my drink. I even reminded our server about it when she came by to drop off a plate of toast and still nothing happened. When we asked about it once we got the bills we figured I could just get the drink to go and while the server agreed to it right away she came back to say they were out of one of the ingredients. Instead of bothering to figure out another way to give them my money I opted out.
The appetizers my friends had ordered seemed to have been enjoyed for the greater part although the seasoning on many of their fried items is the same. The plum bubble tea was reported as being quite disgusting, and I couldn't say if that was a matter of personal taste or poor work on their part yet again.
It was a busy night after an Olympics concert yet they were quite heavily staffed and asides from my forgotten drink every other food order came along within a reasonable amount of time. The drinks did come after the food though and were brought to the table individually and at random times. They should have been prepared first and brought together.
