Luxe Chinese Seafood Restaurant19653 Willowbrook Drive, #138A, Langley
Great Dim Sum!
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2015 - 9:09pm [Dine in]

Best Dim Sum I have had in a long time! One of my Chinese friends had told me that Luxe was the best place in the area for good Chinese food, and we were not disappointed. The service was quick, friendly and we got all our food at high rate of speed! Everything we had was great, plus the sesame balls for dessert. I read a bad review about the washroom, but I didn't have to use them, so I can't say anything... I will definitely go back.

Great little discovery
Submitted Thursday, January 8, 2015 - 9:25am [Dine in]

Great discovery close to home! We went late week night for dinner. We were welcomed right away, followed by green tea and water. Their special salad rolls were very good and the main dishes so tasty!

There was not much ambiance, but we were there to eat and chat, which was perfect.
Will definitely go again.

Curry Leaf Fijian Cuisine9253 120th Street, Delta
Last Minute Take Out with awesome service
Submitted Sunday, May 13, 2012 - 12:06pm [Take-out]

After recently visiting the Fiji Islands, I decided to share some of the fijian dishes with my friends. I called Curry Leaf to place an order to pick up. As I couldn't find their menu on the web, it was hard for me to tell them what I wanted to order, as fijian dishes have specific names.

The receptionist was very helpful with the description of the appetizers she was suggesting me (Bhajia & other that I forgot the name...) and I added a lamb curry.

30 minutes after, I attended the restaurant to pick it up. It's a small place, clean, simple tables and chairs. My order was ready, at the price that she had mentioned earlier to me. The value for the quantity was excellent!

I would definitely return!

Cora's Breakfast & Lunch3025 Lougheed Highway, #390, Coquitlam
Always a good time to go to Cora!
Submitted Monday, December 12, 2011 - 2:29am [Dine in]

I was surprised to see the bad reviews of Cora Breakfast and Lunch...

I'm from Quebec and we have so many Cora's!!! I was more than pleased when I realized that this franchise was finally here, in BC!

Try to find a breakfast place that serve this variety of fresh fruits... NONE! The Dutch? No and in the same price range. Ricky's? Hell NO! It's frozen ones!

For those people who said that it was not worth their money, I'd say that you should just go back to ABC or other cheap breakfast place. Cora's price goes between $8 to $14 the plate. My bill is usually around $15 with the coffee included. Is it that high for a good breakfast?!?

I've never had a bad service. Waiters at Cora work together. You have a main waiter, but another will come with your plate and another one to refill your coffee constantly! And, bonus, some of them speak French! It feels a little bit more like home for me. :)

Every time that I go to Cora, I feel good. People are awesomely nice and I'm always coming out of there with a smile in my face.

Oh! Don't forget to grab a piece of fudge after paying your bill! Yummy...
My classic: The Strawberry Satisfaction with English Cream. Delectable!

I'll always go back to Cora, always...
Future location to be opened in South Surrey... Yeah!

Five Doors Down15047 Marine Drive, White Rock
Great discovery !
Submitted Monday, December 12, 2011 - 2:02am [Dine in]

"Five doors down" is actually five doors down his little brother, Celios...

On a nice Sunday night, the three of us headed to Five Door Down for dinner.
As soon as we were sited, our waiter gave us menu and ordered our drink. My host recommended the Frites Oorlog with the sauces as an appetizer and believe me, I'm not a fan of fries usually, but those were delectable!

The men opted for the Tenderloin and I succumbed for the Sesame crusted Ahi Tuna served on a fresh green salad, beets and grilled pistachios. I had to contain myself not to lick the plate! It was so delicious! I had the opportunity to taste the Tenderloin. It was tender and perfectly cooked.

Our waiter came back to top our glasses of wine, so we never needed to do it ourselves.

There was pleasant Christmas music playing that was not too loud.
The restaurant was half full and not too noisy. I heard that it can get busy on Friday-Saturday night, so having a reservation is not a bad idea.

In brief, my experience at Five Doors Down tell me that I'll be back...

Good seafood place!
Submitted Monday, September 26, 2011 - 4:25pm [Dine in]

I had family visiting and they were staying at the Westin, by the Cardero's. My uncle told me that he had been twice to this restaurant already, earlier that week, and loved the place, so we went there, again.

We got sited in a booths and had by the same token more privacy. Our waiter was always present as needed and very courteous. I shared a spinach salad with my aunt and the cook split it for us. Then I ate their Pacific Sesame Crusted Albacore Tuna and it was delicious! All the food ordered was appreciated by the guests.

We really had a good time and I'll go again! The ambiance was outstanding!

Kappa Japanese Restaurant1450 George St, White Rock
Traditional intimate sushi place
Submitted Monday, June 27, 2011 - 6:07pm [Dine in]

Last night was the second time I attended Kappa Sushi.

As the number of places is limited, I strongly suggest to call prior to attending. We were lucky, there was no wait and a reservation got cancelled. We waited less than 10 minutes to be seated.

Kappa is located in a house. There is no table and chairs there. All private Tatami rooms, which is very pleasant.

We ordered one of their special of the day, Asparagus Gyoza. There were fabulous!
Followed an order of Goma Ae, Spicy Tuna, that was good, Dynamite Roll, the best I've ever eaten and a Mango Roll, very refreshing. For the 2 of us, it was a perfect meal, well paced by our waitress.

It took a little while to have our food after the order was made, but our waitress was present, bringing us tea and water. It was also a busy Sunday night and we were crazy hungry!

Overall, a great experience and we'll go again!

Great night out!
Submitted Sunday, October 17, 2010 - 4:40pm [Dine in]

We were 3 and arrived at the Goldfish around 8pm on a busy Saturday night. There was no problem! They directed us to the bar to wait for our table, where the barman was really nice. We got our table within 10 minutes and had an outstanding service. The food was tasty, the ambiance music great and again, we got an awesome waiter. We're planning to go back again and stay longer next time!

Don't go after 8pm... the fish is frozen!!!
Submitted Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 11:49pm [Dine in]

I have been going to Japan Sushi for more than a year for their excellent sushi. The food had always been outstanding, but the service was always slow... It didn't matter, as the food was so good.

On Tuesday night, I went with a friend for some sushi. I ordered one of their special roll, an expensive one. The presentation was awesome, BUT the tuna was frozen. And when I say frozen, it was hard!!!

I told the waitress, who offered me to change my roll. When I asked if the fish will be frozen, she answered yes, because they were near their closed time... at 10pm?!?

I was so disappointed by their absent customer service, that I won't go back. Don't go there at night!!!

Good times
Submitted Friday, January 29, 2010 - 1:11pm [Dine in]

Out with friends who just arrived in Vancouver and I suggested to go to Tsunami Sushi. They really enjoyed the "Little Boats" and the waitress was really efficient and nice to us. The food was a little bit pricy, but it cost us about $45 per person, so not so bad. I recommend it.

Great ambiance and experience
Submitted Friday, November 20, 2009 - 3:20pm [Dine in]

Third time that I go to Charlie Don't Surf and I always had a good experience. I usually stop by in the afternoon in the summertime, but it was the first time that I went for dinner, not in the summer season.

We arrived around 6pm. The ambiance was really nice, really chill. We were received with a jovial "Hi!" with a smile, had a sit near a fireplace. The waitress was nice, great service and we received drinks and food quickly. No problem to have more dips for the excellent Calamari (that I love!). It got busier around 7pm, but the service remain the same.

I always had great time at Charlie Don't Surf and I don't know why people are complaining about the place. There is also another section more "Lounge Style" that I would like to try.

I recommend the place without hesitation!
