went here around 8pm Wed. after a day at Kits beach with the kids. I really liked the friendly and prompt service. Wasn't too busy at that time. Had sushi/sashimi/udon/donburi. Food came w/reasonably good speed given, and always like a place that can serve miso that is Hot (not lukewarm). The Udon was also hot. Overall good standard japanese fare, decent value for Kits.
Went here Thursday evening 8pm. Have been to Hon's other locations in Vancouver and Richmond. The other locations are better than New West. So, if you can put up with crappy service and indifference from the mostly male servers, then you will get good food and great value. The potstickers were on special at $3.37/dozen for their 37th anniversary (although they were definitely lacking in flavour this time). Food quality has gone down over the years, but still--if you know what you are getting, then worth the visit for a quick cheap meal.
