I love the atmosphere, decor, ambiance, live music, excellent service and central location. Unfortunately, I found the servings small and the prices exorbitant. $7.50 for a small bowl of soup is in my opinion, totally outrageous. While they call it a large bowl, it's far from it. For that price, the bowls should be twice the size. The tables are impossible to eat on and seating is cumbersome. I had to eat the food on my lap. Even the all you can eat deal for $22 is too expensive. If the prices were lowered by 40%, then it would be reasonable.

Avocado rolls are large with eight pieces, as opposed to the six pieces that most sushi places give you, and with very generous portions of avocado. Excellent prices, the best I've seen anywhere. Nice friendly people, even though the service is slow when they're very busy. I'll definitely go back again.

I went there for the thai black rice avocado sushi roll, which was delicious. Service was slow, classical music was too loud and annoying. I would have preferred soft Japanese traditional koto folk music. The owner and his wife were grumpy and unfriendly. She told me she hated the opera music, but her husband makes her play it. No ambience whatsoever. No joy. The cook and his wife are two pathetic, miserable human beings who don't like people and don't enjoy their work. It clearly shows. Pity, because the food is delicious.

I love the new brown rice option! So yummy! Each avocado roll has eight large pieces with generous portions of avocado. The veggie plate # 3 is my favourite. Love the avocado, cucumber and spinach rolls on wholesome, nutritious brown rice! Natural undyed ginger! No artificial colouring! Only 50 cents extra for brown rice per roll! Amazing friendly service, warm, welcoming, always greeting with a smile! You guys are the best! Thank you!

Purple Rice Avocado Rolls - yummy!
Submitted Thursday, April 8, 2010 - 10:58pm [Dine in]

They call it black rice and it actually looks purple once it's cooked. This option is available for $1.00 more and is well worth it. Eight pieces with generous portions of avocado filling. The purple rice/avocado roll combo is delicious. I was shocked however when they made it with a rotten avocado and two of my pieces had dark brown rot. I took a bite of one piece, gagged and spat it out on my plate. I took it back to the kitchen told the cooks how bad it tasted and lectured them on how they should never serve sushi with rotten avocadoes. They said sorry and the waitress returned with two extra pieces, to their credit. The service was good, although the waitress was not friendly, didn't smile and didn't make me feel welcome. Nevertheless, I would go back again and hopefully they will have learned their lesson.
