Been here a few times for dinner and the service has been consistently good each time. However when it gets packed, you see less of the waiters when you need them.
The quality of the food is good, so I haven't minded paying a bit more for the dishes. The portions are decent and we have always had left over food at the end of the meal.
Some nitpiks:
- limited selection of beer
- Peking duck: the slices were very heavy with chunks of meat still on the skin (better with just crispy skin) and this with the layers of fat still on make it a heavy dish.
Foodwise it was nothing special. The fillings for the sushi were not good quality and not as stuffed full compared to other places and it looked like the rolls were hastily put together. The red colour seemed to be flaking off the fish in the Cali rolls. Bits of ingredients from other sushi rolls were stuck onto the rolls I ordered.
The yams in the dynamite rolls were over fried and I wished they would have used Japanese soy sauce as the Chinese kind seem to be too salty for the sushi. Tuna rolls were bland.
The service was good, but I did have a concern on their food preparation process. As soon as I placed the order, the cashier started to help out with the cook in putting together the sushi which isn't too sanitary (that's when I started to regret ordering).
Went into this restaurant with reasonable expectations for a great italian food experience, but I found the experience mixed.
The decor and atmosphere was very contemporary and felt quite cozy.
The appetizer (boccocini with tomato) was great and the portion and price were reasonable. Same with the dessert (chocolate hazelnut pear ice cream)
The service however was the weakpoint of the whole experience. The service staff were quite unfriendly and didn't even crack a smile through the whole time. We had to initiate all our requests as they didn't come by the table very often. Coffee served was not hot.
For the entree, the gnocchi that I ordered was also not as good as reviews stated. First they got the order wrong, and when I got the gnocchi, it looked like they just drained the sauce from the first dish and put in gnocchi to fix it. The portions were very small and bland and I felt it was overpriced for what I got.
I won't be returning to this restaurant anytime soon.
