I will NEVER order from them again !!!
Submitted Monday, January 24, 2011 - 2:17pm [Take-out]

I ordered lunch “take out” from them few times because they are so close to my work.
As soon as I opened the box, I noticed the colour of the rice. It was yellowish and at least 1 or 2 days old. I just ate it without making a big deal out of it for the first few times. I ordered from them again thinking they will serve better rice next time but they continuously packed old-yellowish rice. I am not sure if they pack old food for “take out” customers only but regardless, this made me think twice about the freshness of other food items in this combo box. They’ve lost my trust and I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!

interesting restaurant

Food- Very good

Prices- a little expensive for the amount you get, the shakes are good but also don't expect the large one to fill you up.

Ambience- definately neat! A great first date sort of place. But although the place cool cushions and wood stools, it is so NOT comfortable. I'm short and I was knocking knees with the table.

just know what not to get....

THe sushi is decent here but don't get the cucumber, tuna or salmon rolls here because the two times I got this combo, the seaweed was sticky and the fish off tasting- signs that they premake these. Surprisingly, the cooked food is not bad- the udon noodles are glossy and smooth-like (fresh) and the tempura is good. Prices are reasonable.

Good sushi

Especially for the area, sushi hachi gives the best bang for your buck. The fish has always been fresh (except for one occasion where my amaebi was definately not!) and the prices are better than any of the other sit down sushi places in kerrisdale. They also don't put too much rice in the rolls- many other restaurants do this to make the rolls look bigger. It is a no frills sort of place but if you want sushi that is good and won't break you wallet, I recommend this place.

Good food, poor service
Submitted Thursday, August 31, 2006 - 4:50pm [Dine in]

The Naam has great food and it is definately a unique restaurant. Love the soy blueberry milkshake. Unforturnatly I rarely go there due to the service. The waiters seem like they've been working a full 24hr shift because they are 'spacey' and need to be reminded about getting your food/ bill more than a couple of times. It is not a place to go to if u want a 'quick bite'.

Line ups...
Submitted Thursday, August 31, 2006 - 4:44pm [Dine in]

Why the line ups? It's not that this sushi restaurant is really good, it's just that the service is slow. I've been here about 3-4 times and unless u go at off hours, the service is very SLOW! The food really isn't worth the wait. Sushi is good quality though.
