Katana has been on my radar for awhile now and the past weekend I've finally had an opportunity to try it out. Went on a Friday night and our group of 6 had made a reservation and were promptly seated. Drinks and appys came out quickly, service was fast but lacking that bit of friendliness, nothing to complain about though.
We had a few orders of tempura to start and they were great. Light and not too greasy but the main course was outstanding. I opted for the steak and scallops. The chef put on a great show, was funny and talkative. His food was cooked perfectly to my liking. The scallops were out of this world. The steak cooked perfectly medium rare. The side of rice and veggies was great also. We washed down our meals with a couple rounds of sake and we're impressed. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be having a great time.
Compared to Kobe, I'd choose Katana. It's a bit cheaper and the food is better in my opinion. Closer to home as well! Not somewhere I'd dine regularly but once in awhile it'd be great!

Great place in Abby to grab a late night bite or drinks.

Food at Lou's has always been solid. The burgers are great and the pastas are huge. Nachos are amazing. The drinks are strong and well worth the price. Sunday's are a great night to grab a seat on the patio with some friends and take advantage of all the weekly specials.
Service can be hit or miss however. I've had amazing servers to mediocre to absolutely horrible. If it wasn't for the food and the great atmosphere on some nights, I probably wouldn't come back after some of the services I've had.
Overall, a great choice for drinks and food with some friends, especially in Abbotsford.
