Fujiya912 Clark Drive, Vancouver
Yummy bento boxes :)
Submitted Tuesday, June 29, 2010 - 10:50am [Dine in]

I usually go to the Clark Fujiya because it has the most variety of bento boxes but I go to whichever Fujiya is the closest really :) (Usually Clark). I go here so I can stock up on all the goodies that I can only get at home and swing in for a cheap and tasty bento (lunch) box that reminds me of the ones my mom used to pack for me when I was a kid. Love the donburi bowls (and for $3.95 you can't beat it) and the bento boxes (for $5.95 are fantastic). I usually leave enough room for a round of takoyaki balls as well (because it's like jello, there is always room ;p). I totally recommend this place for you favourite Japanese products and a yummy lunch :).

I go here and have been going for years (I used to frequent their Broadway location before it closed) whenever I can because it simply is awesome :). The egg noodle or the mixed noodles (number 4 and 6) on the menu are to die for (don't forget to ask for the soup on the side, which sometimes comes with a bone covered with the softest and tastiest meat ever :). The chicken wings are fantastic and the fresh lemon ice and soda and the ice coffees are amazing. The prices are cheap $6-7.50 for the noodles and the service is FAST and competent. The only drawback is that this place is usually so smoking busy that you might find yourself waiting a bit for a table. Sometimes they just ask you to share a round table with others and you should! You will get in faster and really it is not that bothersome. We were a tad hesitant but decided to do it and it really didn't make much of a difference and we had a chat with some really nice people during our meal. :). Can't recommend this place enough. So good, you should go!! :D

The WORST service imaginable

We went to BB Ques this evening for a drink and food and were convinced by the nice girl outside telling passerbys about the drink and dinner specials. BIG mistake. First, it took FOREVER to get our drinks and when they did come, they were mostly wrong, It took them 3 tries to remember to bring the right beer and they didn´t bring one of the drinks until reminded. The food finally arrived and when it did, the orders were mixed up so we either had to send it back or switch things on each others plates. Trying to get another drink? Well that was again a challenge, so we finally just gave up trying and asked for the bill. The bill came and the waitress admitted that they had failed to record accurately who ordered what but she thought she would just give us the bills like that, separated (as originally requested by us) but all wrong. They indeed were completely wrong and so we asked her to just give it to us all on one bill. When we had a chance to look at the bill again, they had overcharged us on all the dinner specials and so we had to ask her to deduct that and do the bill again. When we finally tried to pay, we told the waitress what to put into the machine (actually we told the manager the amount to whom I gave the card, and then repeated the amount to our waitress just to make sure) and she still managed to enter the wrong amount. I spoke to the manager and told him that though we enjoyed the food (cause honestly the food was great) we wouldn't be returning because we feared being subjected to such incompetence again. A shame, because really the burger and the mac and cheese were pretty damned good. This place could be great if they hired people who knew what they were doing. A real shame. Seriously the worst service EVER.
