Great place to lounge. Horrible food!

I admit that I come here fairly often for my gelatos, Mochas and smoothies.

It's a great place to bring my laptop and do some work while enjoying the view.

I've been coming here for years (through the different changes of owners).

I've recently made the mistake of ordering something other than my normal breakfast, desserts and fruit parfaits.

We ordered A fish burger and Chicken Fingers and Fries.

DO NOT order deep fried items here. Everything was left in the fryer too long and dried out beyond belief as it was all over cooked. And my guess is that they need to change the oil more often as it had that smoky greasy taste/feel.

Anyway, definitely will be back for my usual items, but Soooooo disappointed about our lunch the last time we were there.

We went to a festival today at the Roundhouse Community Center. We expected bad food and drinks as it was a festival food. Our day started off at the Cafe inside the Roundhouse. Fresh brew ice tea and mango infused. it was excelelent and then we went to see the show inside and they had this buffet line set up. it wasn't a buffet but it was a ticket type event.

we've been to indonesia several times and this did not disappoint. Although some of the food there was actually Malaysian the sate ayam (chicken satay) was great. The peanut sauce was a tad too greasy but deeelicious.

We're definitely going to try the restaurant tho from the sounds of the review, we'll avoid the buffet. :)

Try this place, people, and try that ice tea at the restaurant at the community center. Either way, can't lose.

Inconsistent but decent

We are die hard Asian fans. We've been to the Fuse place several times since we discovered it on Helmcken. Tho' we have loved everything we've had there, it's always exciting to try someplace new. We've been there twice since it opened. The first time was a private restaurant, we were the ONLY ones in there. The plus was that the service was great because there was 3 servers and us. The minus is that I was a bit scared about ordering seafood since it might not be all that fresh with no one else going there.

The martinis were great. My partner's wine was mediocre but freshly decanted. I could easily have had kept drinking if it wasn't a 'school night'. Our tuna sashimi was very disappointing and our chicken cashew dish was very mediocre - it had bursts of flavor and yet lacked pizzaz in other bites. I'm guessing the chef wasn't too big on even wok tossing. The one thing that made us go back the second time was the fish. I can't remember if it was Black Cod or Chiliean Sea Bass, it was a red curry reduction. Great balance of acidity and smoothness.

Second visit will prob be our last. It was a tad busier, but I guess that was enough to confuse the staff. no one approached us and I guess no one knew we were in their area so we were ignored for a while. When they finally figured it out, no one did anything to make us feel better. The duck spring rolls were all right - but not as good as either Goldfish or Fuse down the street. The Pad Thai was decent but considering I can get Pad thai in seven places within mainland, it would have to be outstanding to go back for that. All in all, the drinks were still fab, and I still enjoy the decor and what they did with it (We used to go here when it was Flight). Fun vibe, but I've changed my mind. This is now strictly a place to go meet friends for drinks before going elsewhere for dinner.

PS. This is a chain restaurant so it'll probably survive as it has deep money pockets. Otherwise, I would predict it would go away as quickly as its predecessors.

PPS. Want to try the new 'regional tasting lounge' anyone been there yet?

Consistently good

We work at an advertising agency on mainland and go to this little gem that's tucked away off of mainland. We've been there for lunch for to go, to dine in and used them for catering before.

The value is very good for most items. Their stirfries are usually big enough that the girls in the group pack some home. The ribs are a smaller portion but getting ribs, sweet rice and edamamme beans for abit over 10 bucks is preferable for me than paying 18 bucks for a huge portion that i can't finish.

This place is solid and consistent and it's definitely a staple in our weekly rotation of lunch spots.

We can't wait til the revised menu starts to try more things
