Solid Sushi in Richmond
Submitted Sunday, November 27, 2011 - 9:01pm [Dine in]

The Missus and I grabbed a quick bite before going downtown Friday night. No cooked food just a Negitoro roll, Mirugai, Uni, Sake, Ama Ebi and Maguro nigiri. We were pleased with the quality of the fish and even more impressed with the sushi rice, which on this occasion had a nice balance of vinegar and sweetness.
In the future this will make a nice stop on our way from Vic to Van or Van to Vic. Very promising!

Went there with part of the fam Friday for lunch. The dishes were all very well presented and all agreed it was very fresh and tasty. Being from Victoria where dim sum can be spotty at best, it was a refreshing treat. I actually prefer ordering from a sheet as you can reasonably expect your food to be fresh and made to order. We will go again when we can.

OK but rice needs work

This is strictly a suhi review. They really need to add a little vinegar and kombu flavour to the rice and not cook it so long. It was bland and the rice became mushy when pressed into a maki roll or nigiri piece. They did have a nice variety of fish and even managed to dig out some geoduck so they got good marks on that.
