Love this place
Submitted Monday, October 17, 2005 - 1:35pm [Dine in]

I have been to Joey Tomatoe's too many times to count. Their steaks are amazing, pizzas taste great and you must have the apple pie. This pie is handmade and comes with maple walnut ice cream and caramel sauce drizzled on top... Heavenly!!!

This place is not very good
Submitted Tuesday, August 2, 2005 - 2:37pm [Dine in]

I work next to the Keg Caesars and the food is sub par at best. I have ordered steak that was much too chewy and could not finish. The service is very poor and get our orders mixed up all the time. Our drinks are not prompt. I will give them one compliment, they have these yam fries that are quite unique and amazing.

Apple Tart Mystery Solved!!!
Submitted Wednesday, July 13, 2005 - 4:15pm [Dine in]

This is really not a review of New Town since I haven't eaten there in years but this is in response to the Apple Tart Mystery... Having grown up in Chinatown --- the best Apple Tarts and to answer Elkaso's mystery... the place was called Hong Kong Cafe. I would give my right nut to have another one of those heavenly tarts. People would drive in from Seattle just to buy a few dozen...

It's alright
Submitted Thursday, July 7, 2005 - 11:18am [Dine in]

Went to Moonpennies upon reading Ting's review but was less than I expected. I went with a male coworker and paid $22 for the two of us but I have been to better cafes. I also had the smoke salmon full sandwich but left a bit unsatisfied. The sandwich was not enough for me and lacked ingredients to the point where I felt like i was only eating bread. I won't go back.

Almost as good as Tojo's
Submitted Tuesday, July 5, 2005 - 2:26pm [Dine in]

OK, so my wife, friends and I stumbled to Yoshi's this weekend and it sure was a treat. I ordered the assorted sashimi, scallop cone, miso, salad, soba, negitoro roll, tobiki nigiri and it was all divine. The bill came to about $60 and it was well cheaper than my Tojo's bill of $100+ but the quality was almost at par but the ambience was much better. They have a patio that I want to sit in next time and a pianist that entertained us during our meal. The shrimp tempura which my friend had was freshly killed and fried on demand - now that's quality. I highly recommend Yoshi's and maybe I'll see you there :)

Soggy Burgers
Submitted Monday, July 4, 2005 - 5:18pm [Dine in]

I highly dislike Harlo Burgers mainly because it was soggy and I left feeling a bit ripped off after paying $12 for this 'gourmet' burger. I ordered the half beef/pork burger and did not like it or the salad. I have not gone back since but I have heard mixed reviews from others who have.

Cheap Dim Sum
Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:44pm [Dine in]

I like this place. The $2 dim sum is fairly good for the price and the Salty Poached Free Range Chicken is extremely good. It's decent and you can't go wrong eating here but it's not Kirin...

Subs Galore!
Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:41pm [Dine in]

I go to this viet sub place all the time for lunch. It's the best $5 meal you can get since food downtown sucks. I recommend ordering the 'special' for $2.5 since it beats any of the $2 subs hands down. Avoid their meatball sub - that was horrible.

Too Expensive
Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:38pm [Dine in]

I think this place is fairly good for the quality but too pricey. I prefer cheaper eats and they seem to overprice their dishes. If this were downtown, I'd be OK with it but not on Broadway...

Fresh Pasta - what a treat!
Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:34pm [Dine in]

I frequent this joint and the pasta rocks. I mainly go on Mondays and Tuesdays to enjoy their cheap pasta night but I have gone on the weekends and they have very consistent food. I would avoid the meat dishes as they were disappointing to me so stick to the pasta. If you want a different treat, you HAVE to try their calamari. It is simply the best I've had in town and comes with a nice red sauce for dipping. Mmmmm

Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:31pm [Dine in]

Hey, I like cheap food just as much as the next guy but this place sucks. The ambience is really nasty and the food was sub-par. I felt ripped off and would have enjoyed some Pho for the same price instead. I will not go back to this joint.

Curries and Hainanese Chicken Oh My!
Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:27pm [Dine in]

Boy, this is my neighborhood chinese joint. I go here for their wonderful curries and Hainanese Chicken. They have a special dinner for 4 that includes the above and a soup, veggies and dessert for $30 - a very good deal. The ambience is sub par but who cares, the food is good. The have specials before 5pm that are a steal. Ask for the English version of the specials if you can't read Chinese.

Real Japanese People - Bonus!
Submitted Thursday, June 30, 2005 - 3:16pm [Dine in]

I always prefer restaurants that are Japanese owned. I am a food racist but I believe that it helps in the authenticity of the food. Anyways, my wife and I have been going to Shiro over the years and it has never let me down. The wasabi is freshly ground as you can taste the 'kick' it has compared to the paste wasabi and their ginger seems to be freshly pickled. The suishi is decent but we mainly go for the fresh wasabi - I don't know of any other place in town with this.
