Interesting Experience
Submitted Thursday, February 14, 2013 - 1:52pm [Dine in]

Normally I'm not inclined to go to such lengths to vent about my experience however I frequently dine out as I travel for work and I must say, the Landing Pub should be avoided at all costs. I was greeted as I sat down for lunch and was looking over the menu and was offered a beverage promptly. The waitress said she'd be right back as her owner was in the restaurant and she had to get his lunch. I then witnessed "the owner" who looked to be a bit on the heavier side sit down at a table, sloppily power through his lunch, ask the waitress for numerous refills, then get up and leave his mess at the table and exit the building without leaving her a tip for her efforts. In my experience I've never seen an owner treat an employee with such disrespect and demand so much of her time. From there the food was decent although the menu selection catered to those people who enjoy a non-healthy lifestyle, deep fried and greasy items, not a lot of selection. The waitress and service was well above average and I commend her for having to deal with the owner who seemed quite disrespectful (can he not pick up and clear his own plate and leave a few bucks as I assume he's eating for free). I left a generous tip to cover not only my meal but the owners as well. Personally as a business owner, I won't support a place where ownership treats its staff with such disrespect.

I have been going into southpoint since it opened acouple years back. The service is always good and the food i've noticed has gotten a lot better. I always have a good time with my friends as the staff are always friendly and theres always a good crowd of people in there as southpoint was known as the place to be on the weekend. However lately i've been concerned with the direction the pub is going with the recent bands that have been playing in there on the weekends and the fact that there seems to be no real drink specials anymore. My friends and I like to enjoy ourselves but find it difficult when we cant hear each other from across the table because the bands super loud and we can only afford to have acuple drinks because theres nothing really on special. We enjoy the 2 guys with guitars that used to play there, and the weekend drink specials from before, but lately have been forced to go elsewhere because we didn't enjoy the atmosphere.
