Nagano Japanese Restaurant2918 Glen Dr, Coquitlam
Amazing Japanese, But At A Price
Submitted Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 7:55pm [Dine in]

Nagano sushi is one of the greatest sushi restaurants in the lower mainland. All of the food is amazing, and often they give you a complimentary item to try. Service is great from welcoming you at the door, and serving you at the table. Staff is friendly and efficient. My only complaint is the prices. The food it amazing, however, it is slightly overpriced. I dont mind paying the prices however, at times I dont mind paying a little less for a lower quality. None the less, Nagano is a great recommendation. Enjoy!

Sushi California501A North Rd, Coquitlam
Amazingly Delicious
Submitted Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 7:50pm [Dine in]

Sushi California is from my experience the best sushi place in Coquitlam/Burnaby. The portions are large, the fish is fresh and everything is delicious. They have a large menu with a wide range of sushi and "kitchen food." The portions are big but are still very high quality. My only complaint with with Sushi California is the service can sometimes be lack luster. However, the only time I have experienced this is when the restaurant is busy. Overall I love this restaurant and recommend it to everyone!

An UNpleasant Surprise
Submitted Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - 7:45pm [Dine in]

So I have been trying some local sushi restaurants around me, and Yoko Sushi and Noodle House was next on the list. I ordered spicy tuna sashimi and a dynamite roll. I picked up the food and liked the location and pleasantness of the staff, and that is where the positive experience ended. The dynamite roll was the worst I have ever had, it was dry and the innards were low quality, so bad in fact that I ate only two pieces and decided to throw it out. The spicy sashami was also bad. There was no evidence of anything that could be called "spicy" sauce, and the tuna seemed old and tasted fishy. Overall I was quite unhappy and will not be returning to this restaurant.

Tobiko Sushi15951 Fraser Highway, #102, Surrey
Good but not great
Submitted Wednesday, September 24, 2008 - 2:56pm [Dine in]

Having frequented many sushi restaurants around greater Vancouver I was hoping to find some great sushi close to home. Tobiko's food was acceptable. Their sashimi was fresh but lacked flavour, the rolls were average size and were of acceptable quality. I did not try the "kitchen" food but there was a large selection of tempoura's and meats. I would eat here again, however, I am still looking for some good sushi close to home.
