Great price, large portions. Daily Special (different everyday, offered all day) always good, comes with Wonton Soup. Clean, nice decor. Service is prompt and friendly, really like a place where they're happy to see you. Fresh food, served quick, 10 mins for pick up everytime. Amazing lunch deals on right now, any two items $4.95 or any three items $5.50, generous portions.
Used to go to Grocery Store around the corner, NO MORE, this place is well worth the extra few minutes walk. No stale bad after taste, grumpy counter guy/chef etc...if you frequent the Douglas Park/56th ave/204th area you know what I mean.
Food is OK, not anything to rave about, usually do take-out as the wait staff is uninterested and unhelpful...seriously! if I wanted to hand out cash AND be treated so ungraciously I would visit my Family. I will give them a solid for food because a good friend who can cook recommended them originally. Ashoka is alright, I am sure others did have a better experience.. not me and up until last night I had been several different times for dinners.
My friend Susan introduced me to this place, before they moved to Fraser Hwy, when they were still in that Old DQ on 56th Ave. Since then I have been regularily with a full range of my friends and NO one has done anything less than marveled at this taste treat---
Crispy salmon roll, 3 out of 4 on the spicy range, sooo addicting. Salmon and green onion rolled up with rice and nori and then lightly deep fried, served with a spicy crab mayo. We start with this everytime and go from there...Can also recommend the alaskan salmon roll for those not inclined to spicy. Another fav are the Spicy Tuna bites, like chicken BUT so much meatier and full flavoured...ya ya not everything should taste like chicken LOL.
As a rule the service has always been fast efficient and gracious...
.
**My son and I laugh about that Ole style commercial with the disparrage of chicken Thursday's...LAMB Wednesday's means a trip out to see Matt at his Donair Hut, on Fraser Hwy right at the begining of the one-way.
Amazingly fresh fresh fresh, tasty, happy OMG good....yes IT is that good.
Asian is always good, my son trades back and forth between that one and the Cyprus. I am currently hooked on the Mediterranean, my friend from Van who is a foodie, loved the Arabic.
Matt's graciousness, keen sense of tasty and just plain personable SMARTs are a great winning combination...gonna have to email Guy Fieri from the food channel about this place :)
Dot's Cafe on the one-way in Langley, uses REAL roast tukey in their clubhouse sandwich, makes all the difference from that deli pre-slice (gak) turkey. I work nearby and call ahead to pick up, its always been 10 minutes. Friendly, accommadating, always gracious. My friend from work swears by the mushroom cheese burger, she claims its the BEST recovery food for those late brunch-after too much last night situations. LOL Regardless can recommend it for the fast, fresh, always courteous visit you will have....and yes there is no decor but most days our taste is just in our mouths anyway.
My two sons and I moved to the area in 2008, we try to shop, dine, support local as often as possible. Came upon this place by chance, did not expect good quality Chinese in Langley, BC lol:) My boys are no strangers to great restaurants as we have travelled and always make a point of checking out local establishments, and they are not easy to impress. Luxe has definetly become a keeper. We order take-out from there too and the portions are generous and fresh.
