no more take outs
Submitted Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 6:11pm [Dine in]

We ordered dim-sum take outs on a Sunday, the lady on the phone told us to come pick it up half hour later. We went to get our food 45 minutes later, and still it wasn't ready.I understand these situations sometimes do happen, but to my surprise was,the lady in the front desk was so rude,i felt bad for her.She told us she had no knowledge of our order,so she checked, still no order could be found. She asked us rudely if we still wanted to order.I told her i recognize her voice, and it was her who took our order. She then said " i think the kitchen probably have forgotten"! First, she lied,i think it was her that actually had forgotten to place the order, and second, she shift the blame to the kitchen. Never again will we order take out,or dine in this establishment.

Hired a wrong waitress
Submitted Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 5:42pm [Dine in]

I've been coming to Top's for many years, thirteen,to be exact. Went for an early dinner on a Thursday with my pal J. We both ordered the lasagna, which was just wonderful, except for just one problem. Our waiter was going on for his break, and he told us the waitress will take over our table.Unfortunately, this waitress, never once came by to see if we needed anything. We sat patiently for her to come by for coffee, which to our horror, she never did. There was only three tables. So,J went to the front desk to ask her if she was busy, her replied was"what"? After J told her we needed coffee, then she came.I was thinking of telling the owner, but then i thought i might jeopardize her job,but if it does happen again i will for sure notify the owner.

Where is everybody?
Submitted Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 2:37am [Dine in]

Went for dinner with my pal Jay,we patiently waited a whole 10 mins for somebody to seat us. The place was almost empty, except for one table with 3 people. While standing there like an idiot with Jay, i notice a waitress was coming towards us,so i thought. She gave me a "wait a sec" gesture and proceeded to the bar area. After another 5 mins of waiting, she finally came over and sat us. I asked her if she was the only one working tonight, she said with a blank face and said "no". Finally, our designated waitress took our order, she was friendly and quick with our drinks.I ordered the turkey dinner,Jay ordered the chicken merlot. The food was just ok,the portion size was satisfactory.Since the place is so dead,no wonder there was only 2 waitress on shift.

Changed Name
Submitted Thursday, September 11, 2008 - 3:33am [Dine in]

It's no longer called the "Winsor",it's changed to "Sensus",i believe it's with a "u" instead of an "e".The menu has changed, including the owners. The staff, and interior is still the same. I ordered the Seafood Boullibaise which was quite disappointing. The taste was bland and the portion size was just way too small for a $19.99 dinner! No wonder it came with rice,or spaghetti of choice.

Doesn't know how to omit onions!!
Submitted Thursday, September 11, 2008 - 3:08am [Dine in]

Been to this location a few times, but the last time was really disappointing. I ordered the Butter chicken dinner, which had a creamy curried coriander sauce on the side for dipping the naan bread. I told the waitress to make sure to let the chef know that i'm allergic to onions. She returned to say that the cream sauce is pre -made.I then told her that the Acrkoyd location had no problem in making a fresh "no onion" sauce when i was there. She then headed back to the kitchen, returned 10 mins later and told me there's nothing the kitchen can do about the onions. I was thinking, either the chef is stupid,or maybe just plain lazy. i ended up ordering a Veronica salad, omitting the onions of course. By the way,the salad wasn't that fresh either!

No need for English
Submitted Thursday, September 11, 2008 - 2:18am [Dine in]

Been to this place sporadically, reason being,is to see if they have improved. One thing for sure is,if you want adequate service,is best advised to bring someone that speaks Mandarin. Yes,Mandarin, not Japanese, because all of the waitresses either speaks Cantonese,or Mandarin, mostly the latter!! The food is decent, the quantity is different every time, probably due to the fact is,they change different chefs.Don't even try to attempt to make a complaint to the manager, because she'll just look at you dumbfounded.Perhaps they need to learn more English.

Rude Manager
Submitted Monday, September 8, 2008 - 1:18pm [Dine in]

Went for lunch on a Sunday, greeted by the manager,Susan after 15 minutes of waiting. She was rude and unprofessional. She failed to greet us with a smile, spoke with haughtiness by telling us that we can't order from the dinner menu, only from the snack menu.Failed to ask us where we wanted to sit, since it's a "lounge" style restaurant, the customers should get to choose. As a manager of a somewhat prestigious hotel, she failed miserably.Since we are Asian,it was no surprise that she treated us the way she did,but when Caucasians entered the establishment she was very friendly, and smiling.A complaint will be in order!!
