Never Again
Submitted Wednesday, November 28, 2012 - 5:40pm [Dine in]

We have been going for years to Golden Boot. But the last straw has been laid and never again will me and my family and friends go there. The service is HORRID! The food is good but not good enough to endure the worst service I have come across. They have this little troll that is so arrogant and is obviously a family friend that they were forced to hire. She is rude and will ignore you or slam down the food unless you are a table she likes. So many times we are forced to stand at the door while the kitchen guys (including the owner) just stare and don't even acknowledge you. Then the waitresses make you wish you were sorry you came. We get shouted at, "YOU GOT RESERVATIONS?!" This place used to be crazy busy and they would be needed but not anymore. I wish he could see that if he got good service in the place would return to its previous splendor. Why would I pay to be at a place where they just don't care if I am there or not. Your loss Golden Boot!

A Greek Night Out in a Sultry not Typically Tacky Greek Restaurant
Submitted Thursday, April 14, 2011 - 10:31pm [Dine in]

As we sit in the restaurant with the statue of Athena - the goddess of wisdom - looking over us we know we made a "wise" choice. The romantic vibe is set with linen table clothes decorated with roses and candles. My first decision is made around the dessert as they are magnificent slices of heaven. Once that is settled we have our starter, usually the lightly battered, non greasy, calamari or their heavenly prawn and scallops in a creamy pernod sauce. Knowing I have to leave room for dessert I go with the mixed souvlaki (half beef and half chicken) a skewer of each to get the best of both worlds. Their Greek rice and potatoes are the BEST! I like that the greek salad and pita come before the entree. Their wine and cocktail list is fun! We always ask for our same waitress as she remembers us and the stories we tell her. She asks about our family and how our jobs are and it makes us feel memorable. We tried the restaurant when it first opened and it was a well oiled machine from day one. It is clean in the restaurant which is important to us and they play good Greek music not the cheesy kind. The location is great and easy to find for people that we get to meet us here. They never have a problem accommodating our reservations when we have dinner parties of 8 - 10 people or if we drop in just me and my husband. It is our Greek getaway.
