I wanna eat that egg noodle dish!
Submitted Sunday, April 5, 2009 - 10:53pm [Dine in]

Actually, I am not 100% sure if it was this restaurant or not, but I believe this is it.
I saw an article about this place on Georgia straight and went there next day. I had a dish with half rice noodle half egg noodle thing (dry). It was very tasty and the potion was just right.
I just have to go there again and order the same thing.

Good deal!
Submitted Sunday, April 5, 2009 - 10:42pm [Dine in]

I went there with my friends and we all were satisfied with what we had.
Pad Thai was not very tasty I thought ( it was too ketchuppy), but my friend liked it.
They have a good variety of lunch special and the Chicken and Veggie dish was fairly good. I didnt like the dipping sauce for a spring roll though. It was like sauce with lots of water.
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and it was such a good deal --- $6.50 inc tax!
I will come back when Im in the area for sure.

They still charge you15% gratitute
Submitted Sunday, February 22, 2009 - 2:54am [Dine in]

Even though I was happy with the food I had, I didn't feel good that I had to pay 15% tip autmatically. It was lunch time so 10% would be reasonable, and I would add more if the service was noticably good. Our server was not friendly at all and kind of suggesting to leave asap. My friend and were looking at a desert menu, but the waiter brought us the bill. We asked him if it was ok to order one desert each and he sighed out loud and ripped the bill. As soon as he took our order, he brought an another bill and slamed it on the table.

I can't find any good reasons I want to return there.

Good food, Good price
Submitted Sunday, February 22, 2009 - 2:31am [Dine in]

First of all, they don't have all you can eat. I started going there recently and checked the reviews tonight, then found somebody mentioning it. They used to do all u can eat, but not anymore, I believe.

Anyway, their food is always solid for the price. I don't like Terriyaki so much because I love real Japanese style Terriyaki ( U can try one at Sushi Aoki ).

It takes really long sometimes if you wanna order something to take out during busy hours ( 7pm-8pm ), and some items such as Gyoza, Oyster Motoyaki, BBQ Ika, Beef Tataki, etc. take time always.

Service is basically solid, though sometimes they are too busy with To Go stuff to take care of eat-in customers.
It's always nice on Tuesday as far as I know. The waitress who works on Tues.( Maybe Sat. ,too) seems to know Japanese food very well and she is very friendly.

The owner guy is also super friendly and nice. The Sushi chef ( short, older one ) is very nice to customers but mean to waitresses. It bothers me a lot.

Overall, it's a good choice to enjoy cheap casual meal with your family, friends, loved ones, and by yourself.

The place you want to support
Submitted Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 2:19am [Dine in]

As many other people said, the food is great but the ambiance could be better.
I always wanted to go there an finally did today. Their lunch special curry was only $6.75 and it was absolutely satisfying.
It was about 12:30 pm and I was the only customer. I felt so bad and I wanted to let people know that it's good to try!
Just a half block away, there is a cafe "Sweet Tooth" which actually has amazing Thai food for lunch time. Maybe it's one of the reason why people don't go to Seri. Too bad, but I will support you. Good luck!

Not too bad, but not very good choice
Submitted Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 2:05am [Dine in]

If you live around there and really want to eat cheap sushi, you might want to go. I used to live near there so I went few times, once in a while, only when I was too lazy to cook or look for a good place.
There is not so much I can say, but I overheared that the owner/sushi shef had been taking 50% of tips. Maybe that's why servers don't stay long.
Not very clean floor, cheap looking (actually very ugly) posters on the window, and ok food. I'm kind of curious how long it's gonna be around.

Best Pad Thai!
Submitted Tuesday, December 23, 2008 - 12:16am [Dine in]

I know it sounds strange... But they do have great Thai food and their Pat Thai was the best Pat Thai I've ever had!
It was not ketchupy at all, which is real Thai style pad thai, I believe. I come here for good organic coffee and bagle sandwiches (they bake all the bread and pastries in house). I was always interested in their Thai food and finaly tried one yesterday. OMG I did not expect I would have such a good satisfing Thai food at a small ordinaly looking cafe!

If you want to try authentic Japanese sushi, you shoud go!
Submitted Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 4:28pm [Dine in]

If you are satisfied with cheap, fake, western sushi, maybe this is not the best place.
They have real Japanese style sushi and everything I've tried tasted great! I almost cried remembering the good time in Japan.
I'm glad that Vancouver has various kind&style of sushi restaurant.
"California Roll" which we don't have in Japan, and "Dynamite Roll" which also we don't see in Japan can be very popular back there and I do enjoy both once in a while. However, I don't see them "sushi", they are kind of sushi, but it's like western/Japanese fusion food. When I want to eat "sushi", I go to Yohachi or some other places such as "Koko", "Sushi Aoki", "Sushi-Hachi"etc.

I used to like your doughnuts...
Submitted Monday, September 22, 2008 - 2:14am [Dine in]

It has been very famous for the doughnuts and I used to go almost every weekendjust to get them.
But this summer, everytime I went there, I was always very dessapointed. Tasts not good, and they were very, very, very greacy.
Last time I had them, some of them were not cooked enough I felt.
Plus, the owner's wife is so arogant. It was very busy and many customers were trying to order their food at the same time, so she was really angry and yelled "Nobody talks me now! OK?! Wait for your turn!!!!"...
I'm not gonna go there anymore, even though their breakfast menus are still good.

If only it was clean...
Submitted Thursday, August 28, 2008 - 9:46pm [Dine in]

It seemed clean, at first, but I saw the chef chopping raw meat on a counter, wiped it with dirty cloth, and made salad rolls on the same counter! Salad rolls were fresh food, so if there is any vacteria on it, which I'm sure there is a lot, that could cause very serious food poisning problem!
I didn't check carefully, but I don't think the chef washes his hands after touching raw meat!
Also, cashiers/watresses wash dirty dishes and serve food without washing their hands...
Oh, it is not as serious as these clean issues, but one Thai girl working there always talk on the phone with her boyfriend I guess.
Sometimes, the shop's phone was busy for long time so I couldn't order things on the phone, and I went there anyway then I saw the girl was using the phone.... It seemed she had been talking for long time. Commen, girl! Get back to work!!!
Food is decent, though they use MSG for most dishes I guess, and service is alright. Most girls are Japanese who speak poor English, but it's not a problem. I want to enjoy food there, but I can't, after seeing the dirty things...
