Amazing Donuts
Submitted Thursday, March 1, 2012 - 10:28pm [Take-out]

This place thinks outside the box of the conventional donuts. I ate Maple Bourbon Bacon Donut. Sound crazy and taste like a gift from the gods. This is not fried dough with some sprinkles on it. They think outside the box and they deliver. You have to visit this place.

Best Caribean Food I've eaten in Vancouver
Submitted Saturday, November 19, 2011 - 2:53pm [Dine in]

Went there with my wife for a rare night away from our baby. Great experience! Great Food! Great Environment! Coming from Toronto and eaten at many places that serve Caribbean food. I was disappointed by a lot of the places in Vancouver but this place delivers on all fronts.

Loved everything we ate and we have and will be going back.!

Toonie Pizza5351 West Boulevard, Vancouver
Good Downtown Pizza in Kerrisdale
Submitted Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 3:36pm [Dine in]

Was walking by and checked out Toonie Pizza. Under new management and newly renovated and the owner is a great guy. Pizza has sesame seeds on the crust and unique style pizzas

I am new to Vancouver and my girlfriend and I are always looking for good places to eat. This time we ordered pizza from Toonie Pizza. We were not disappointed.

Food:
Ordered a Pesto Chicken pizza with garlic sauce on it. It was great and I love the sesame seeds on the crust.

Service:
I called it in and was told 15 minutes and it was ready for me when I got there. Owner is very pleasant and courteous.

Value:
Cannot complain about the price. Inexpensive good food! You cannot go wrong.

Ambiance:
Nice and clean on the inside. Décor was nice.

Overall, this is the place for me to order my pizza in Kerrisdale. Unlike most places in Kerrisdale, the food is not overpriced and is a great value for your dollar.

I recommend this place.

Rehanah's Roti & Trinidadian2518 St. Johns St, Port Moody
Finally Authentic Food
Submitted Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 3:12pm [Dine in]

I am new to Vancouver and my girlfriend and I are always looking for good places to eat. This time we went to eat at Rehanah’s Roti based on the good reviews that it received. We were not disappointed.

Food:
We both ordered Roti (I got chicken & she got goat). The food was great! I big sized Roti filled with nicely seasoned curry. I order hot and the pepper was amazing.

Service:
The food came extremely fast. Staff was very pleasant and courteous.

Value:
Cannot complain about the price. Inexpensive good food! You cannot go wrong.

Ambiance:
Clean on the inside. Décor may need an upgrade and it does not have a lot of seating.

Overall, we would say that it is a good restaurant and it is one of our new favourite places to eat. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for Roti. We got there near the end of their workday so some other items I wanted like Doubles were already sold out.

Only downside is that it is in Port Coquitlam. I wish it were closer so that I could eat it once a week.

I recommend this place 100%

Reef, The1018 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
I am not a fan of the food here.
Submitted Saturday, November 29, 2008 - 8:53pm [Dine in]

Went to The Reef on a Friday and decided to try the food at this location and it was not very good.
They had a live DJ which was a plus. The music and vibe was good, as well as the drink selection.

Food:
I ordered the Fried Chicken and Yam fries and the fries looked overdone and were black in colour. The fried chicken was dry and overdone and was not enjoyable. Johnny Cakes are the only thing I enjoyed eating.

Service:
Not bad. It was packed and I didn't have to wait that long

Value:
I expected better food so I think I didn't recieve a good value for my food.

Ambiance:
It was nice to have a live DJ playing nice reggae jams. Not a bad looking place and it is in a great location.

Would only go there for the music, Johnny Cakes, and drinks. Not a fan of their food.

Pho Tan Vietnamese Restaurant4598 Main Street, Vancouver
Oustanding Vietnamese Restaurant
Submitted Saturday, November 22, 2008 - 11:54pm [Dine in]

I am new to Vancouver and my girlfriend and I are always looking for good places to eat. This time we went to eat at Pho Tan’s based on the good reviews that it received. We were not disappointed.

Food:
I ordered Grilled pork on rice and it was very good. Well cooked and flavourful.

My girlfriend ordered Satay Skewer, Prawn Supreme on Sugar Cane, Salad Roll, with Steamed Vermicelli. The Satay Skewers were amazing. Would go there just for that.

We also ordered a side of spring rolls which also tasted good. Not over done and the size of them was very big which was good for me.

Service:
The food came extremely fast and the place was full. Did not even finish the first cup of tea before the spring rolls came to the table. Staff was very pleasant and courteous.

Value:
Cannot complain about the price. Inexpensive good food! You cannot go wrong.

Ambiance:
Nice and clean on the inside. Décor was nice and modern with a touch of Vietnam. One of the nicest Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been in.

Overall, we would say that it is a good restaurant and it is one of our new favourite places to eat. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for good Vietnamese food.

Only downfall is that they take cash only for the immediate moment but you will not be breaking the bank to eat at this great establishment.
