Outstanding on all counts

I have been to Vij's at least 20 times, and it is a constant pleasure to dine there. The food is unlike anywhere else I've dined. The service is attentive, and the communication between the staff is excellent. They all treat you like gold while you're waiting for a table -- which is one of my favorite things, since they shower their guests with gratis Indian appetizers non-stop. My favorite are the mogo chips -- mmmmm. I bought Vij's cookbook just so I could make them for myself!

All of these things would not mean as much to me, however, if the ambience weren't so wonderful: the lighting, the fixtures, the colours, the smooth energy of the staff. All combined, these elements make for a wonderful dining experience, and, as a vegan, this is not always easy to come by in a fine-dining establishment.

Way to go! Vancouver is a more beautiful city just for have Vij's.

Wild Rice is back!

Wild Rice had gone downhill for a while, but is back on top form! Welcome back :)

Nice cocktail menu, and a fair number of BC wines by the glass.

Excellent Kung Po, Eggplant Doufu, and spring rolls. Well prepared & well presented dishes, and everything that came out from the kitchen looked tasty. Great dishes for vegans & vegetarians, too.

The servers were professional and polite, but a little eager to take the dishes away.

The ambience is relaxing, contemporary, and hip, and the restaurant is very clean -- washrooms very tidy, seating areas spotless, beautiful lighting, and nice art on the walls.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city, but it kind of went down hill for a while -- small portions, middling servers, mediocre food. Now it looks like things have improved 100%, and I will be going back again very soon. Plus they're in the Entertainment Book, so you get awesome value.

Well done, Wild Rice!!

Wow! I don't know why it took me so long to get to this place. Don't be fooled by the humble exterior. The food, service, and ambience are GREAT.

We ordered the mogo chips to start off with. Delicious. I don't know of anywhere besides Vij's in Vancouver where you can get mogos...and Vij's doesn't even have them anymore! As for the veggies dishes...I'm a vegan, so I was over the moon! Great Bartha, excellent okra, and tangy veggie vindaloo. The best Indian food I've had on the North Shore, and perhaps the best traditional I've had in Vancouver.

We had a great bottle of Riesling too, and our server, Lalite, was super helpful. I'd happily recommend this place, and can't wait to go back myself :)
