Ask for the chef's special creation and you will not be dissapointed. Of course it is a bit pricy but what do you expect with such fresh ingrediants and inovative design. Eat slow or you'll lose the experience. Marinated tuna is the best. The servers will tell you what to put sauce on and what to eat plain. I guess we non-japanese drench all our sushi with soy sauce and wasabi. Hey call me old fashion but the plain sushi still tasted better with a little soy and wasabi. The variety was incredible. Too bad I can't pronounce most of the items otherwise I would definitely be looking for a cheaper substitute elsewhere. This is a special occasions place for sure.

So Much Fun

Saw their article on martiniboys.com so I had to check out what all the fuss was about. Wow!!! What an amazing place! It is unlike any place I've been to around here. Truly a West meets East concept. I went on Wednesday for dinner and boy did I luck out. They had this live Jazz singer and Cuban band performing. Good thing we went early otherwise we would not have gotten in. I had the Mussels and Clams with the curry sauce-Oh so savory. Thinking about it now is making me salivate. My boyfriend tried the lemongrass chicken and to my surprise, it was amazingly delightful. (I usually hate ordering chicken breast as it is usually done way too dry). Dessert was sinful. We were going to share the Tiramisu but the Warm chocolate cake with more melted chocolate and vanilla gelato screamed our name. Good bye sweet-tooth. The martinis were good but I must admit the wines selection could be better. However, the manager did say they are about to expand their selection by about twenty more varieties. If that is true, then we've just found our new hang out spot.

It wasn't even our anniversary and my boyfriend surprised me with a bouquet of flowers at the table. I like the personalized touch of having our names on the menus. I must say the food was spectacular but the service was lacking. There was only one server but the place is quite small. I had to ask for more bread at least four times before receiving any. I had to dine on bread for the most part because our elaborate six course meal took over three hours. Lots of time in between courses. But then again, the food was so good that the wait was worth it. I just wish the server was more attentive.

Was there a little while back. The taro chips were good with the fondue. But as soon as we got the appy, the server said our food was up. No big deal. We woofed down the appy and expected the mains right away. No such luck. My friend got her meal right away, but I had to wait another 10min for my duck. When it arrived, the middle was still bloody. I like my meat rare but that was ridiculous. I sent it back to be recooked but I think they just zapped it cause it came back all rubbery. In addition, the taro mash was really glutenous. I haven't been back since so I hope they fixed up the quality.
